Roy Moores close friend says the Republican establishment is right to be concerned with the Alabama GOP primary candidate leading the closely watched special Senate election against Trump-backed Senator Luther Strange. Dean Young, who calls Moore his best friend, says Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and all the establishment are going crazy because, should the former Alabama Supreme Court chief justice defeat Strange in next weeks runoff, Moores fiery social conservative brand will spell trouble for the McConnell-Beltway establishment which has sunk millions of dollars into his opponent.
From the Washington Examiners David Drucker:
Young said flatly that Trump made a mistake [endorsing Strange], and that it could come back to haunt him. President Trump should be very careful because I believe Judge Moore is getting ready to win no matter if Trump comes down here or doesnt come down here, he said. President Trump is taking an unnecessary risk and is in danger of hurting his clout in the future
Honestly, I dont understand it. Judge Moore doesnt understand why hes doing it. But he wont get any flack from us.

My blog post today touches on the big business opposition to Roy Moore and how it reflects a “soft totalitarianism”.

Trump picks corruptocrat strange over a very Great American Roy Moore. GonMoore! Roll Tide!
the question is... are they trying to stop him because they think he might win the general? or are they trying to stop him because they think he might lose the general?
What do the polls say about him in the general ?
It’s Alabama! Moore would not lose the general. That’s why they’re so desperate to stop him, because if he wins the runoff, he’s the next US senator. Tuesday is it, and if Moore wins, it’s done.
The most the Establishment can do at that point is to get behind the democrat or run some independent candidate, or run Luther Strange as an independent (remember Murkowski in Alaska in 2010?).
Last poll which is dubious has the Judge 13 pt lead which is why mitch and company are in a panic.
Today’s POTUS Tweets say vote for strange strong on 2nd Amend. Time for all of us who don’t want mitch’s stooge as a US Senator to make noise of opposition. I’ve already done so.
When Moore wins the seat, he will be beholden to no one but the people. We need more candidates like that.
Good Question and not a lot of data on the General race yet. Here is one I found which shows either GOP candidate winning against the democrat. SOURCE.

The question was about the General race. Do you have any polling on it?
Message is loud and clear to the GOP and Trump.
We meant what we said on Nov. 8, 2016. Now, drain the damn swamp.
bump for updates
We voters in Alabama have been inundated with Luther Strange ads. In my book, that is proof positive that he is the wrong guy to vote for and has been compromised, bought and paid for by the GOPe. Looks like to me he has become dirty in record time.
One wonders if Bentley was pressured by the Establishment to appoint Luther in the first place.
Roy Moore is the ONLY responsible, patriotic choice here.
Luther is already hopelessly corrupt.
Simple...no words needed...Every Voter in the great state of Alabama legally qualified to vote next Tuesday in the Alabama USA Senate runoff election “MUST” cast their vote for Judge Roy Moore....100%. Luther Strange & Mitch McConnell must be defeated.
Trump endorsing him, then even scheduling a campaign stop for him, has got me wondering: Has Trump gone Swamp?
A big question that conservatives should be crystal clear on is how many senate RINOs must be given the boot, or neutered by increasing the relative number of conservatives in the senate.
It’s a combination. Say there are eight offensive RINOs left. If we eliminate four in the primaries, but our majority in the senate is still minimal, then the remaining four will still be able to block the conservatives.
However, if conservatives can *also* increase their numbers in the senate by four, then the remaining RINOs will not be able to block the conservative agenda any more.
So, how do things stand?
RINO Jeff Flake (AZ) will likely be replaced by a conservative.
RINO Dean Heller (NV) is vulnerable and could be replaced.
RINO Luther Strange (AL) is likely to be replaced by a strong conservative.
RINO Susan Collins (ME) may leave the senate to run for governor.
The Democrats could be in for a slaughter.
Claire McCaskill (MO)
Joe Donnelly (IN)
Joe Manchin (WV)
Heidi Heitkamp (ND)
Jon Tester (MO)
Other at risk Democrats
Bill Nelson (FL)
Bob Casey Jr. (PA)
Tammy Baldwin (WI)
Debbie Stabenow (MI)
Sherrod Brown (OH)
Plus, Bob Menendez (NJ) could be forced to resign and be replaced with a Republican by Chris Christie, but that could either be a RINO or conservative. In either case...
[Trump endorsing him, then even scheduling a campaign stop for him]
A MOORE victory will show PRESIDENT TRUMP and the GOPe that We the People are not beholden to a person, but to the ideals set down by the U.S. CONSTITUTION. No more politics.
LIBERTY! FREEDOM! GOD BLESS THE USA!
Bets are hedged.
Trump supports Luther Strange.
MAGA warriors, Sarah Palin and Seb Gorka, support Roy Moore.

I think folks understand Trump is playing to Swamp politics
Whoever wins the 9/26 primary will likely be the next US Senator from Alabama. The dems don’t really have much of a chance at winning this seat.
The establishment - that includes Trump in this case - want Luther to win because he is a pliable politician and will wheel and deal. Moore is a principled stubborn conservative and will probably cause Trump and McConnell all sorts of problems.
He appears to be moving in that direction on a number of issues.
The movement around Trump was never about Trump as a man. It was about the forbidden, paleocon type ideas Trump campaigned on that had been purged from establishment conservatism for many years. That’s why there was so much excitement and so many people who had dropped out of conservatism during the Bush years and so many young people who had not yet been involved in politics supporting Trump.
Only old, neocon leaning Bush lovers are personally loyal to Trump.
Does anybody know if that debate tonight is going to be live streamed?
