Leaders of some of the worlds most influential or controversial countries skipped Donald Trumps debut at the United Nations rather than face the prospect of being caught up in an embarrassing controversy by the unpredictable U.S. president.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are two of the highest profile absences. But there are many whose faces were noticeably absent during Trumps aggressive speech Tuesday on confronting North Korea, terrorism and communism, including Germanys Angela Merkel, Englands Theresa May, Venezuelas Nicolas Maduro and Mexicos Enrique Peña Nieto.
Would have sat through it if it had been another Obama apology speech.

Merkel was absent too.
Too embarrassed to sit there and hear truth directed to her, even without mentioning names.
World leaders don’t always attend these sessions.
I don’t think Trump sat there all day either.

Trump addressed the REPRESENTATIVES of the UN countries, not the leaders themselves............

Kind of disappointed in Theresa May. The rest aren’t surprising at all.
To: artichokegrower
Did those world leaders actually “skip” out?
Because if they did, it explains a lot about what goes on at the UN.

He was staring at his feet. I think he was trying to decide whether to throw his shoe at Trump or call a hooker later that night. He chose the hooker.

I for one am glad they didn’t attend, because they are, to the man (woman) why we are where we are today in this world. I just hope Trump now goes about ruining both China’s, Russia’s & Germany’s economies with financial sanctions. As far as Maduro and Pena Nieto (the Mexican flea with a hard on floating down river on his back yelling “raise the bridge, I’m coming through”), the air in the room is better in their absence.

You have to have both shoes to call a hooker in New York? Strange place ...

They can take their embarrassment and stick it. Their voters can see Trump’s speech remarks on the internet.

Maxwell Smart says no. But you can’t throw the wrong shoe.
Missed it by that much.
