On Tuesday night, Democrats flipped two Republican-held state legislative seats -- one in Oklahoma, one in New Hampshire -- that Donald Trump carried in the 2016 election. That makes six turnovers from Republican to Democrat in contested state House and Senate races so far in 2017 -- and 26 out of 35 races (at the state legislative and congressional level) in which the Democratic nominee has overperformed Hillary Clinton's showing last November. (Worth noting: Republicans have yet to flip a Democratic-controlled seat so far this year.)
Republicans will, rightly, note that in each of the contested special elections for US Congress, Democrats may have improved on Clinton's performance but they weren't able to actually win. Close doesn't count in politics. Which is true! As is the fact that Republicans picked up a massive amount of state legislative seats in the Obama era -- well over 900 -- and were bound to give some of them back eventually. And that each race, of course, is unique -- and not necessarily indicative of any broader national trend.

“This is 6 out of what....1000 seats?”
7383.
The Dems have increased their percentage by 0.08%
Good ole media makes it look like the Republicans are doomed.
7,383 state seats.
Understand...
13 months out from the 2018 mid term elections.
Way too early to make predictions. My concern however is not a shift to Democrat Party support, but rather Trump voters staying home in disgust over the GOPe Congress.
The pickup is .000948%.
“Good ole media makes it look like the Republicans are doomed.”
Lying by incomplete reporting.
If you can’t trust the news then who can you trust?
Need “oh noes” gif. Can’t do it from here.
900 to 6..................I’ll take those odds!.....................
What about all the failed attempts to win special election Congressional seats this year... now they will hope for Alabama if Moore get GOP nom and his 9/11 comment will be the issue.
read the story. 4 one-offs and a couple of swing seats in a very red state.
Thanks.
I came up with 0.08%.

Seven chambers flipped control after the November 2016 elections.
CNN is an echo chamber, overly amplifying some relatively minor notations far beyond their importance. The reverb effect does have a sort of impact, but for any competent sound engineer, the background noise can damped down, and a little reconstruction of the pure notes can drown out and nullify the discord.
Get that danged guitar back in tune, there, Clem.

We also lost a state senate seat in District 44 and a house seat in District 75 earlier this year. I believe that we lost all three seats because of all the scandals this year. Former state Sen. Ralph Shortey resigned amid child prostitution allegations and former state Rep. Dan Kirby, who resigned following an investigation into sexual harassment claims made by a former assistant.
So, the Dims have won back 6 of the 1,000+ state and federal legislative seats lost during the Obama years? Not a statistically meaningful number.
If GOP loses Congress next year it is their fault\
They want Second place ,they like it that way
