Did Glenn Beck's erratic Never-Trump-ism torpedo The Blaze?
American Thinker ^ | 9/1/2017 | Monica Showalter

Glenn Beck's The Blaze is enforcing 20% layoffs on its staff, a major sign of distress, all the more curious because the election of Donald Trump pretty well showed how significant the potential reader base out there might be. After all, most conservative websites are either doing well, or holding their own in the current tough media environment. Breitbart doesn't seem to have any trouble hiring new people, as the re-entry of Steve Bannon and maybe Sebastian Gorka can testify. Breitbart has also been expanding its overseas operations. The Wall Street Journal editorial page has been hiring, the Daily Caller seems to be picking up new talent.

So, what did Beck in? I can only speak for myself as a reader, but if you ask me, it was Beck himself. The guy just couldn't keep a steady editorial line. He puffed and pontificated, taking himself from tea party stalwart to the guy who was always complaining about conservatives, the very thing that did Jeb Bush in. Not to mention, he bawled a lot. But style points aside, his big problem was that in an era of Trump, he didn't like Trump. And it wasn't because he was a swamper, which has a certain logic, it was because he invented himself some biblical apocalyptic vision and cooked up a rationalization from it that Trump was a bad guy. Or something.

For a while when he was at his peak he was making a boatload of money. Hopefully he didn’t blow it all on the Blaze...

Well, spending something like $60K on George Washington's compass didn't help (a drafting compass, not a direction finding compass). If you can stand to watch the video, you will notice that Stabby The Clown was talking about stabbing people long before Trump got into politics.

Idiot? Hey, mr. nice guy, I never said he voted for Trump. There were other people on the ballot. I kind of figured this is the response I’d get from you.

Him and Lyn’ Ted made a perfect couple. Good riddance to both.

He is getting more and more like Dr. Gene Scott was back in the 1980’s.

” I never said he voted for Trump.”

So he voted against Trump. What the hell is the difference??

I didn’t expect anything less from you. Anyone supporting Beck is a moron because he is a moron, and it takes a moron to follow on.

When Glenn Beck went anti-Trump, I stopped listening to him. I heard Soros bought him his new studio, so I’m sure he is the opposition.

Juvenile-driven news group...no authority...no reasoning. I wish he’d just pack up an RV and retire.

I used to listen to him regularly. But then he started getting weird...that was long before Trump came on the scene. I haven’t listened to Glen in years. As they say, he jumped the shark.

Some time after his Washington rally he went off the deep end.
Couldn’t stand the idiotic banter between him and sidekicks. You couldn’t understand them. Beyond annoying.

Then his unglued maniacal attitude toward Trump....... Whoa!
When his show comes on the air I switch to music.

#25: "He is getting more and more like Dr. Gene Scott was back in the 1980’s."

Except that Gene Scott was likable in an eccentric uncle kind of way. And Gene had a hot wife. Gene Scott's show was an alternate reality with those long segues of horses romping. But yes, Beck has matched Gene for (except for the wife and horses) and upped him a few notches of craziness.

I was OK with Beck until he started in on the pro illegal immigration thing. Then I was done with him.

I’ve always felt sorry for Glenn Beck because he is a certifiable emotionally disturbed person and his troubles have played out for the world to see.

I just wish for his own sake and that of his family he would take a quiet retirement at the farm where life is beautiful all the time. Maybe him and Ross Perot will play checkers all day.
