I am not saying ‘appease Russia’ btw . I am saying make war TOGETHER .
Get it done , take care of business . If it is clear as a bell that we are now on the same page , they will abandon their temporal support from POS regimes like Iran NK in a heart beat .
Imagine radical islam being on the run , worldwide , from our combined efforts .
Russia is the one who has been acting aggressively, threatening their neighbors. Their aim is to take back their former Soviet states and basically bring back the evil empire.
As for the ChiComs, they and Russia have never had a better relationship. In fact, the two have been conducting joint war games since 2005 in obvious preparation for war with us and our allies. They, as always, view us as the primary obstacle in their expansionist path.
The next commander in chief will face a stark reality: for eight years, President Obama systematically drained resources from our armed services. It will no longer matter why or how he did it. All that will matter is what happens next.
While President Obama may have been hoping that unilateral disarmament on the part of the United States would result in similar behavior from other major powers, the opposite has happened. Both China and Russia are engaged in significant military buildups and aggressive behavior from Ukraine to Syria to the South China Sea.
Iran, which had been restrained by one of the most punishing economic sanctions regimes in history, is now on a $100 billion military shopping spree primarily at the Russian arms industry checkout counter courtesy of the American president. ..."

Russia has stepped up its military maneuvers to a level unseen since the height of the Cold War, according to a new report released by NATO Thursday.
Jens Stoltenberg, the alliance's secretary general and author of the report, noted that Moscow has conducted at least 18 large-scale exercises over the past three years, "some of which have involved more than 100,000 troops."
Those exercises included several simulated nuclear attacks against NATO allies and partner nations ..."

"...a panel of eastern European leaders lined up to add their own accusations of Russian aggression.
"Every single day, Russian troops, Russian weapons, Russian ammunition penetrate into my country," said Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko.
He addressed Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was not present, saying:
"Mr Putin, this is not a civil war in Ukraine, this is your aggression. This is not a civil war in Crimea, this is your soldiers who occupied my country."

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Russia's push into Ukraine has put many on edge. But less known is that Russia is also strengthening its military links south of the Rio Grande and re-establishing itself as a power in the region.
Vladimir Putin has been strengthening military links here, and Russia is now the largest arms dealer to governments in Latin America, surpassing the United States.
Russia has even floated the possibility of building new military bases in Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and putting its warships permanently in the Caribbean.
In the midst of the Ukraine crisis, Russia's top diplomat Sergei Lavrov recently visited Cuba, Peru, Chile, and Nicaragua, where he announced that Russia would also pour money into the new Central American canal project. ..."

Russia agreed to provide military training for three leftist regimes in Latin America and increase military visits and exercises following a visit last week to the region by Moscow's Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu, Pentagon officials said.
Shoygu met with defense and military leaders in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua and signed several agreements on warship visits and military training during the visit, which ran from Feb. 11 to 14. It is not clear whether any new arms deals were completed during the visit.
Defense officials said the Russian leader is seeking bases in the region for strategic bomber flights that Shoygu recently promised would include flights over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.

I remember all the whining and crying well. Now it is one of our best defences once we get it fully operational.
I am waiting for the anti-missile laser to be become operational (and we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer!).
Having it off shore in the Sea of Japan and zapping one of FatBoy’s test launches would be sweet! It would be render his missile program no more effective then a trebuchet (thought not as much fun!)
We really aren’t that far away from a deployable system, maybe ramp up the program or even develop jointly with the Japanese & South Koreans.
We need an entirely new model
I clearly remember “ Duck & Cover “ in my small kid days .
THAT is not the model . Frankly , IF Russia could become our ally , who cares if it restores it’s former territories to an integral larger state ( not to include the Baltic states .
All the ‘Stans ‘ ? Show me one that is thriving . ALL are making money hand over foot from the drug trade with the Taliban .
I wouldn’t mind seeing the US take over Canada and Mexico , for parity ;^)
China is intelligent . They would choose to enter such an alliance rather than oppose it . China , Russia and the US ALL have a clear and present danger posed to them by radical Islam , maybe Islam in general and ALL are already opposed to that .
To avoid an eventual all Islamic planet a new model must be found . The old models do not work , never did work very well . If only we could go back to certain points in history and revise those points , all would be / could be great ; NEVER allowing the Russians or the Chinese to have gotten the bomb , never allowing the Chinese to solidify NK , never allowing the SHah to be deposed in Iran . But we can’t and we have to deal with the realities on the ground NOW . A renewed Cold War is asinine . And super dangerous .
Did you ever have to do ‘duck & cover ‘ at your school? It was a terribly helpless feeling I rest my case ....

Bring this system back
Along with neutron weapons
If it is shot down during boost phase it will be headed down, back toward fat boy's lair. Gravity wins once it is in pieces.
You keep overlooking the fact that Putin is a brutal thug. He runs the country like a Mob boss. He’s actually had people murdered who opposed him politically, or spilled the beans on his sinister prior activities.
Even a lot of Reagan’s own advisors rolled their eyes at the claim.
I never doubted it for a minute.
If we had spend a decent amount of money on it, we probably would have been able to shoot down anything as early as the stain-on-the-dress administration.
That’s the airborne laser, the ship & land based one have been successfully tested.
Navy
Army
Or buy the Israeli version
“the stain-on-the-dress administration.”
Has a nice ring to it.
Gotta give Linda Tripp credit. She saved both the dress and Lewinski’s life.
5.56mm
Truth, especially the latter item.
Boost phase is certainly the best place to take out an incoming missile, but it is also the hardest for several reasons.
It wouldn’t be hard if you could set up your anti-missile system just down the road from the enemies launch facility, but in practice the defensive system is tens to hundreds of miles away.
Boost phase goes by very quickly, a minute or two. In that time, from a standoff distance, you need to be able to detect the launch, acquire and track, come up with an intercept solution, and have an interception weapon capable of quickly reaching out and destroying the target. Laser is the only known way to reach out hundreds of miles in that time frame.
Airborne Laser was originated to try to fill this capability, and it did well as a proof of concept design. But it was not able to achieve kill capability at the practical standoff distances that are necessary to avoid a SAM taking out the Airborne Laser platform. Its very difficult to keep the energy beam focused through the atmosphere and that’s where the future work remains.
The Laser technology since Airborne Laser has reduced the size and increased the power considerably so that a 747 should not be needed in a newer design, but the basic beam focusing challenge for shots out to 50 or 100 miles still exists.
“...hard to determine where the missile is heading...”
As long as it’s going up I’d shoot it.
Worst president ever..
And he didn’t do the damaging things he did out of incompetence or inexperience, although both of these and more certainly would apply to him, he did it deliberately. To screw the United States. It was part of his communist “Fundamental Transformation” of the country.
like the Clintons ?
” Hes actually had people murdered who opposed him politically, or spilled the beans on his sinister prior activities.”
I don’t buy the brutal thug narrative : he’s a Russian for Russia , as Trump is an American for America .
It would not bother me a but if Trump ordered open season on ANTIFA . How is that different ?
Anyway FRiend , I do not expect to ‘convert you ‘ I am merely here to state my points and share my experiences .
I would advocate an alliance with Russia in a heartbeat.
Why are we all bark and no bite? We are losing credibility. UN has directly threatened us after we said there would be “FIRE AND FURY”, Was it all just an empty assertion with no substance. NORK needs to be preempted YESTERDAY. American lives in the millions are at stake.
