GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore has said he doesn't believe Obama is a natural-born citizen

Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, a Republican candidate for US Senate, has cast doubt on former President Barack Obama's citizenship repeatedly and as recently as December 2016, fueling the debunked "birther" movement that sought to delegitimize Obama's presidency.

Moore, who started questioning the legitimacy of Obama's citizenship back in 2008, last year told a meeting of the Constitution Party that he personally did not believe Obama was a natural-born citizen.

"My opinion is, there is a big question about that," Moore said when asked how he defines natural-born citizen as it relates to qualifications for president. CNN's KFile reviewed video from the event.

According to the Naturalization Act of 1790, which clearly defines what a natural born citizen is, Obama definitely is not.

In order to make any conclusion you need to know who his parents are/were and where he was born. None of that is available.

I agree with the Judge.

His father was a British citizen, and having one American parent is not sufficient to be considered natural born. A born citizen, but not natural born.

This eliminates Cruz,Rubio,Haley and Jindal for variations of this.

America has been sold a fairy tale about Obama, and we need to extract the truth.

My hope is that Obama will go down in history with an asterisk after his name.

Every natural born person is a citizen, but not every citizen is natural born.

Yes, and that is beside the point. The Constitutional requirement for natural born definitely has not.

Pretty much a moot point at this stage. I'm more worried about what Moore will do for Trump than what Moore thought of Obama.

Everything about Obama can be questioned. He is a total fraud.

He may not be a citizen. Where is the evidence?

“I’m more worried about what Moore will do for Trump”

Based on his track record, he will pursue the Trump agenda. And he doesn’t back down.

“.... racially charged birther conspiracy ....”

1. racially charged?

HUH? What’s “race” got to do with it? I’m the biggest “birther” out there and it has NOTHING to do with race. It has 100% to do with eligibility according to The Constitution of the United States of America.

2. birther

“You’re one of those, but what am I”. One of those immature, childish, name calling diversions to try and marginalize your opponents. Unfortunately, it worked. Or should I say “we allowed” it to work.

Myself, I accepted the term as a badge of honor, having studied the issue of eligibility for years, since it first came up regarding Obama.

I KNOW it to be a legitimate concern. I KNOW that Obama was and is ineligible to the office of president and vice president of the United States (REGARDLESS of where he was born) according to the original intent of the constitution AND according to judicial review by the United States Supreme Court.

I am also quite certain that Obama was not born in the United States.

Why else would anyone proffer a forged, FAKE, doctored, layered, fabricated document (birth certificate copy)?

The only not forged, not FAKE, not doctored, not layered, not fabricated document (birth certificate copy) I have seen is the so-called Lucas Smith, foot print, Kenyan birth certificate for Obama.

It was not computer generated. It was an actual certified copy of a document. The copy was obtained from the Coast Province General Hospital in Mombasa Kenya.

So why didn’t everyone else go get a copy for themselves? They weren’t exactly handing them out. Lucas Smith had to BRIBE people to get it!

“In order to make any conclusion you need to know who his parents are/were and where he was born. None of that is available.”

I am referring to Obama’s personally stated narrative. If it is true, he cannot be a natural born citizen, as per the definition of a natural born citizen in the Naturalization Act of 1790.

Other than gay marriage and Ten Commandments, Moore doesn't have a track record. He has talking points he's put on his website.

I am re-posting this from too many times before...

Don't get me started!

First of all we do not know who he is, but let's go with the narrative that he was born on a tropical island to a white woman and a black Kenyan on Aug 4, 1961.

This was posted on Zippo's campaign website in '08, no longer there but FactCheck had posted it in reply to a story in the Rocky Mountain News that Barack Obama "Holds both American and Kenyan (since 1963) citizenship."

“When Barack Obama Jr. was born on Aug. 4,1961, in Honolulu, Kenya was a British colony, still part of the United Kingdom’s dwindling empire. As a Kenyan native, Barack Obama Sr. was a British subject whose citizenship status was governed by The British Nationality Act of 1948. That same act governed the status of Obama Sr.‘s children.
British Nationality Act of 1948 (Part II, Section 5):
Subject to the provisions of this section, a person born after the commencement of this Act shall be a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies by descent if his father is a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies at the time of the birth.
The Kenyan constitution does state that if you do not denounce your other citizenship and swear an oath to Kenya then your citizenship does in fact expire. Originally it was listed on his 21st birthday but then corrected because of a 2 year grace period to Aug 4, 1984. Big deal Greg...Well it is. Enter the British Nationality Act of 1981.
Every person who— (a)under [F105the British Nationality Acts 1981 and 1983][F106or the British Overseas Territories Act 2002] is a British citizen, a [F107British overseas territories citizen] , [F108a British National (Overseas),] a British Overseas citizen or a British subject; or (b)under any enactment for the time being in force in any country mentioned in Schedule 3 is a citizen of that country, shall have the status of a Commonwealth citizen.
emphasis mine

The UK was terminating the title of "subject" and replacing it with "Commonwealth Citizen" in this act. So the date above is relevant because the commencement date of the BNA 1981 was Jan 1, 1983 while Obama was still considered a Kenyan Citizen thus being a British Subject then became a "Commonwealth Citizen" of the UK.

He is not a US Citizen if we believe the phony birth certificate or we don't. And I'll never get back the time I have spent on this subject....

Obama had very little to do with where he was born.

No, but he had everything to do with whether or not he ran for President...AFTER telling us he was born in Kenya.

(whoever he really is)

That’s a matter of law, a term which not everybody translates the same way.

Well, Morrison Waite "translated" it pretty clearly in a Supreme Court decision.

If we only take that which is officially promulgated we get- does not have two American citizen parents. Father was a citizen of two foreign entities, Kenya and the British Empire. That is contrary to all previous definition of (Constitutionally) Natural Born Citizen. If, as eems entirely likely, he was born outside of the country then he is no American citizen at all and actually an illegal alien. His m other was too young at the time of his birth to maternally confer citizenship on her child if born in either Kenya or Vancouver BC, either of which places is more likely than Hawaii. There is even a paper birth Certificate in Mombasa.

The practical effect of the Obama presidency is to make it possible for any child born on earth to become the president of the USA. The Natural Born clause is erased.

I don’t have the slightest clue where Obama was born. The reason I and millions of others can tell you don’t know is because Obama is UNWILLING to release a certified paper copy of his birth certificate to the public. Until he does, the issue is not Roy Moore, me, or any of the other of the millions, the issue is Obama.
