If he stands firm in not nation building, changing the rules of engagement to win and holding Pakistani accountable that’s a good start. He has to hold firm against the warmongers and nation builders he is surrounded by.

They should not be in complete control of our military. We should be fighting terrorists and they need to get ready to take over which was the plan. Instead we just turned it over to them and left some of our military there to be sitting ducks.
If it is going to be like it was then we need to remove all of our military and fight the terrorists another time/place/way. We need to go in and get terrorists and get out, I understand it is their country but they have allowed and even supported terrorists, the people the country “belongs” to are not in control, terrorists are. We have a right to go get the terrorists and if not then we need to stay out.
Neither did our enemies. All the more reason you can’t always wait for a DOW. I can just imagine it now...Trump has hard intelligence that NK is about to launch a nuke strike against us. He can strike first or go to congress and ask for a DOW.
You are simultaneously arguing for “following the constitution”, while also arguing that modern warfare doesn’t allow it. Your only consistancy is in being wrong.

Do you not understand? Every generation of Islam from beginning to now has had ‘terrorists’. Over 1000 years of ‘terrorists’ mostly terrorizing other Muslims.
When they invade a non Muslim country, then yea, let’s get them out & keep them out. But these are THEIR COUNTRIES. They can kill each other all they want (and have been for centuries and centuries). Not our business.

Local newspaper did the same thing, mostly because it was monkey-see-monkey-do. They had such an inferiority complex to the NYT and Wash Post that they mimicked the idiocy.
There is a difference between an undeclared war that has gone on for 16 years, and an enemy that is about to launch a surprise attack.
And there was a proposed Congressional Declaration of War after 9/11 against Muslim terrorists and any country that gave them support. It was never sent to committees and never came out.

You obviously are not paying attention. The Islamic terrorists do not list their trade in yellow pages. All those 911 terrorists were living in USA for several months, under the radar.
The best method of CONTROLLING (radical Islamic terror has not gone away for 14 centuries and will be here after next 14 centuries) such terrorists is to deny them sanctuary. Which is why it is critical to prevent Taliban from taking over Afghanistan AGAIN.
But I agree we do not need to build their nations. Why? Because we are in bigger debt already than any other country on earth going back 5000 years. We do not have the money to build nations. But we must defend our civilians against terror by denying them sanctuary in any country. It is better to fight the Taliban in Afghanistan than fight the terrorists they will train and send them here.
