Its been an excruciating six months since 14-year-old Fatima Avelica watched, sobbing, as immigration agents picked up her father on their way to school.
Fatimas father, Rómulo Avelica-González, who immigrated illegally from Mexico in the 1990s, had driven Fatima and her 12-year-old sister, Yuleni, to school in Los Angeles every morning for years, despite a deportation order hanging over his head. But a month after Donald Trump took office and promptly called for ramped-up immigration arrests, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents pulled over the familys car.
The wrenching video of the arrest that Fatima took from the backseat went viral capturing a moment that would come to symbolize the anguish of schoolchildren who have seen their families torn apart by aggressive immigration enforcement, and others who worry their families could be next.
Easy way to solve this problem. Deport his daughters as well.
Aggressive immigration enforcement/?? NO! Just actual ENFORCEMENT of LAWS. Period. They all knew he was here illegally and had a deportation command. I wish I could feel empathy for the illegals. But they have broken the law and they know it.
Just try this sort of (redacted) stuff down in Mehhickkeooo and see what happens to YOU!
Oh Good!
An illegal alien sob story!
Just the thing to freshen up the day.
It’s all about money. They get a per head per student attending every school day from the federal government which is why schools are now reluctant to close during snow days and why they have so many make up days. It doesn’t matter how many are citizens and how many are illegals they get paid for both.
Not to worry! They have schools in Mexico too!
These stories all seem to start put the same. The world was nearly perfect for some illegal kid or person working a honest job then Donald Trump became president and created a trail of tears. Boo hoo hoo hoo home and stop stealing from our communities.
Deport ALL illegal alien invaders...even if they are “children”. Get out of OUR country!
Then it they refused assume all the children in the school are illegal. The parents will clear the sanctuary right quick or deal with finding other daycare
Whaa whaa waaaa booo wooo hooo.
I noticed last week that Sessions was using the terms of sanctuary cities “frustrating laws” and “failing to comply” with laws. No, they are violating the law, and such language would require action on his part, so he does not use the term “violation” of law.
The administration should make the point that the same rationale used to defy immigration laws is the same rationale that was once used to defy civil rights laws.

“Easy way to solve this problem. Deport his daughters as well.”
Precisely. Deport the whole damn family.
They have schools in Mexico. Daddy Dearest can take his little girls with him. I’m all in favor of keeping the family together.
“Sanctuary schools across America” lose federal funding.
Clinton’s fault, he should have became legal in the 1990s when he first arrived. LOL
Keep the family together,, send ‘em all back to his country of origin.
Until we change our own (stupid) laws, the US born children of illegals are our fellow citizens. They should be encouraged to be AMERICANS, by treating them fairly.
Obey the law, or change it. That applies to the illegals as well. Don’t walk in uninvited or overstay your welcome and we’ll get along fine.
Frankly, I’d be willing to trade even for willing workers provided the countries of origin agreed to take our hoodrats, babymamas and trailer park methheads. One for one. Conditioned on a genuine effort to learn to speak English.
