They’re down now to giving awards to foreigners. The Kennedy Center honors are so yesterday.

The Kennedy Center honors are so yesterday.

I just looked up how the Kennedy family made all of that money that allowed them to build the Kennedy Center, start a foundation, get a President elected, drown a girl in the back seat of an Oldsmobile, and so on.

There seems to be a lot of speculation about how much of Joe Kennedy's money was legit. Before any respectable people hold another charity event, I think they should demand Joe Kennedy's tax returns to verify that he paid his fair share.

The Kennedy Center is so yesterday. Its main reason for existing nowadays seems to be to congratulate itself for the conceit of being a national center of culture, and in an ironic way it is.

It's a dump, a tourist trap, and a left wing echo chamber left over from the '60s. The productions are second rate, unimaginative, and ho-hum, at best. Other tourist attractions in town, like the Washington Monument, at least give you something unique for your money, like an aerial view of the city. The Kennedy center gives you a grotesque twenty foot bust of JFK that looks like it was assembled from chewing gum scraped off the bottom of the seats, housed in an equally monstrous building with proportions designed to make you feel like an insect. It's architecture Mussolini would have been proud of, and a venue for Hollywood and its east coast groupies to enjoy each other's reflected imaginary glory.
