An edict announced Monday by the militia's supreme leader, Mulla Mohammad Omar, calling for the destruction of all statues in line with "Islamic" laws, has caused shock around the world.
Afghanistan is home to an array of pre-Islamic historic treasures from its days as a key stop on the ancient Silk Road and a strategic battleground for conquerers dating back to Alexander the Great and the Aryans before him.
The two massive Bamiyan Buddhas, carved into a sandstone cliff near the provincial capital in central Afghanistan, stand 50 meters (165 feet) and 34.5 meters (114 feet) tall and were built around the second century.
Appeals for their preservation have come from the United States, France, Germany, Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Pakistan, Germany, Russia, India and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
Koichiro Matsuura, chief of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), said he had convened an emergency meeting of members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to try to stop the destruction.
"They are destroying statues that the entire world considers to be masterpieces," Matsuura said.
"And this is being done in the name of an interpretation of the Muslim faith that is not recognized anywhere else in the world."

No hope for humans, you would think that in this day and age with technology and advancement that people would be more intelligent. They are stupider than ever and getting more mental as time goes on.

I’m tempted to take the destruction of Buddha statues somewhat personally.
However, the only thing more racist and offensive than white privilege is yellow success.
So, I guess statues of the Gen Lee of 500 BC were doomed, ironically, once modern betters became ‘enlightened’.

I have posted this everywhere I can think of. We have got to get some sense about our history and culture:
Confederate soldiers, sailors, and Marines that fought in the Civil war were made U.S. Veterans by an act of Congress in in 1957, U.S. Public Law 85-425, Sec 410, Approved 23 May, 1958. This made all Confederate Army/ Navy/ Marine Veterans equal to U.S. Veterans. Additionally, under U.S. Public Law 810, Approved by the 17th Congress on 26 Feb 1929 the War Department was directed to erect headstones and recognize Confederate grave sites as U.S. War dead grave sites. Just for the record the last Confederate veteran died in 1958. When you remove a Confederate statue, monument or headstone, you are in fact, removing a statue, monument or head stone of a U.S. VETERAN.
18 U.S. Code § 1369 - Destruction of veterans’ memorials (a) Whoever, in a circumstance described in subsection (b), willfully injures or destroys, or attempts to injure or destroy, any structure, plaque, statue, or other monument on public property commemorating the service of any person or persons in the armed forces of the United States shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both. (b) A circumstance described in this subsection is that— (1) in committing the offense described in subsection (a), the defendant travels or causes another to travel in interstate or foreign commerce, or uses the mail or an instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce; or (2) the structure, plaque, statue, or other monument described in subsection (a) is located on property owned by, or under the jurisdiction of, the Federal Government.

Once all the statues are gone and all Confederate symbols are outlawed, then we can start considering re-education camps for those who object. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Karl Marx really did cheer on what the Radical Republicans of 1865 were doing.
Not copy cats. Islam is like communism or any other totalitarian system All history of anything that was different must be erased. People who know that there were better things in the past are less easily conformed to the serfdom of the new system. The serfs must not know that they are in hell.

I think “American Taliban” is a better label and needs to be used in place of antifa..... Everyone could understand that label! The other label doesn’t fit their complaints as it’s not the opposition that is fascist. It needs to go away as does “racist”. If I’m a racist for disagreeing with someone, so be it!
There was an article posted on FR by someone this week where the word “Taliban” was used and it fits perfectly! Let’s stop using all the labels the left wants to use. “Taliban” would drive them nuts!!!

It appears to me, that this poor, minding his own business, bronze man was lynched and then the corpse kicked and spat upon by his haters. A hate crime requires severe punishment. Those guilty are on video. Let the prosecution begin!
