Ousted Steve Bannon declares Trump presidency he campaigned for is over (Title is misleading)

A defiant Steve Bannon declared the Trump presidency he had campaigned for was over as he vowed to carry on the fight after being ousted as the White House chief strategist.

Within hours of leaving his office, Mr Bannon was back at Breitbart, the right wing website he ran, presiding over the evening news conference.

In interviews he made it clear he was not going quietly as he rounded on those he held responsible for his departure.

“The Trump presidency that we fought for, and won, is over," he told the Weekly Standard, a right-wing newspaper “We still have a huge movement, and we will make something of this Trump presidency," he continued.

" But that presidency is over. It’ll be something else. And there’ll be all kinds of fights, and there’ll be good days and bad days, but that presidency is over.”

He added: “I feel jacked up. Now I’ve got my hands back on my weapons,” he added as he vowed “Bannon the barbarian” would crush the opposition.

"There’s no doubt. I built a -----ng machine at Breitbart. And now I’m about to go back, knowing what I know, and we’re about to rev that machine up. And rev it up we will do.”

His loyalty to Donald Trump remained undimmed.

“If there’s any confusion out there, let me clear it up: I’m leaving the White House and going to war for Trump against his opponents -- on Capitol Hill, in the media, and in corporate America,” he told Bloomberg.

Earlier Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House press secretary said Mr Bannon, 63, had departed “by mutual agreement.”

...

Joel Pollack, Breitbart's editor at large, tweeted a one-word response to Mr Bannon’s departure: “War”.

Sounds like Bannon is chomping at the bit to get his and Trumps enemies.

I'm still of the opinion that Andrew Breitbart was murdered. Glad to see his spirit of resistance to leftist tyranny is still in good hands.

Only appearances have changed, I suspect.

Who cares where Bannon lays his pen and his phone? He takes himself wherever he is and he and Trump know exactly how to find each other.

Steve has everything he always had and more to gain. He’s away from the WH RINO faction and riding atop the Breitbart machine.

I wouldn’t get too comfortable if I were a Democrat.

YEs but to say to the media the Trump presidency is over, even if put into a context that is different than it sounds, he had to know the entire lefty media would run with this headline. It’s not a good look.
I hope he does help fight the left and hopefully in a couple of years will be back on the campaign staff if DJT runs again.
It seems that is more in his wheelhouse rather than governing and dealing with congress/senate.

“I’m still of the opinion that Andrew Breitbart was murdered.”

You and half of the nation thought so at the time. After the Seth Rich murder, it seems not too far fetched.

And Joseph Rago, a 34-year-old Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial writer for The Wall Street Journal, was found dead at his home on Thursday evening. Police officers discovered Mr. Rago’s body at his apartment in Manhattan at around 8 p.m. after a request to check on him, a spokeswoman for the New York Police Department said

“How is the headline misleading?”

Makes it sound like the Trump presidency is over. Most people skimming headlines would not catch the subtle modifier.

Sounds like he’s saying that what Trump campaigned on is not what is happening in the WH.

It sure does seem like it. With everyone in Congress refusing to work with Trump, it’s going to be near to impossible to get stuff done.

What Trump needs to do is to have Sessions get about 5 investigators loyal to Trump to start going down a list of people in Congress, and other officials throughout the country. Start bringing people up on serious charges like treason, high crimes, sedition, etc. Then they might start to fall in line.

Taking the premise Stevie was butt hurt is the wrong premise to to take. Bannon now has been given freedom to operate out from under the WH purview thus Bannon is able to do what he could not tied to Trump. Yeah he made a rookie mistake and he lost his job over it. This in the end is actually better in the long run because of the freedom that he now has that he did not before while employed by the WH. If he is butthurt and goes on the offensive against the nevertrumpers or the left, let him run free. Let’s see what damage he does to the enemy of America. Bannon needed to be let go and I am glad he was. However, he has a mighty big hill to climb and those who despise him only make that hill larger.

Forget them starting to fall in line, get their pork ladened behinds out of office. Get someone in there who will be an ally to Trump. An enemy turned friend through coercion, and it is coercion no matter how you look at it, is an even bigger enemy behind the scenes.

And Justice Scalia.

For obvious reasons.

Trump knew in advance what Bannon would say in the interview. SK backed down, Bannons statement allowed NK to save face.
