A van has been involved in a "massive crash" in the city centre of Barcelona, with "several" injured.
Police said a white van mounted the pavement and struck several people.
Pictures from the scene show emergency services and civilians attending to at least two people on the ground.
The Ministry of the Interior said on Twitter: "There has just been a massive trampling on the Ramblas in Barcelona by a person with a van. There are injured."

Probably no Franco statues in Barcelona. It’s in Catalonia which was anarcho-communist-whatever during the Spanish Civil War and is bitterly opposed to the Franco legacy to this day.
EU media and Barcelona officials are calling this a terrorist attack.

Armed men are ‘entrenched’ in a restaurant.
That's putting it lightly.
El Periodico newspaper reports two armed men are holed up in a bar following the van attack.
It also reported gunfire near La Boqueria market.
TV3 reporting that the two armed men entered a Turkish restaurant.
We had some hit and run driver near here kill a couple of Bicyclists. It wasn't Breaking News.
They may not care for Franco, but thanks to him, the city wasn’t occupied by the Nazis during WWII.

It’s definitely not “terrorism.”
It’s simply “workplace violence.”

Alacarta TV has spoken to a taxi driver who witnessed the crash.
He said: “The van was travelling at high speed and went down running over everyone that it could.”
