This kind of action is giving in to the “Heckler’s Veto” - which is DISGRACEFUL.

Some federal court will overturn this (although I wouldn’t hold my breath for the 9th Circus to do that).

Go to federal court and prove this. Do it once, and now you have a precedent. When some other municipality in the same jurisdiction does the same thing, sue the mayor, chief of police, etc., etc. under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for deprivation of civil rights under color of law.

Frankly, McAuliffe and everyone in Charlotte guilty of a role in cancelling the protest on Saturday, and in failing to provide protection to the protesters that day, should be sued. These are PERSONAL suits, for which their official position does NOT immunize them (in fact, it is the basis of the suit - that they used their position to violate your rights).
