Protesters vandalized and attempted to take down the Peace Monument in Piedmont Park in Atlanta on Sunday, mistaking it for a pro-Confederate statue.
The protesters were marching in response to the violent protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday where one woman died after being deliberately hit by a car, and two law enforcement personnel were killed when the helicopter they were in crashed.
The Atlanta march traveled from Woodruff Park to Piedmont Park Sunday, where some damaged the Peace Monument, erected in 1911, a blog on theAtlanta Journal-Constitution website said. The sculpture features an angel standing above a Confederate soldier, guiding him to lay down his weapon.
But the memorial attacked by protesters some dressed in black and wearing masks was erected to encourage healing and reconciliation:

Since when does a liberal know anything about history?
Because they are ignorant
Not a one of em was a cracker
WAAAAAAAAAAH
You are suppose to call me Cookie !!!
LMAO!!!! And it’s not even the semi-satire news!
Meanwhile the statue to Henry Wirz, commander of Andersonville POW camp during the Civil War remains untouched. He was hanged for the atrocities he allowed to take place there. I visited Andersonville and it’s a haunting place.

What if I self identify as a Graham Cracker?
My wife’s great grandfather survived Andersonville.
But we aren’t clamoring for removal of Wirtz’s monument, or anything else CSA related.
AntiFA-duhhhhhhhh
I went to Andersonville last year...its history is terrible...
The Bell curve is alive and well.
I looked for the corresponding AJC blog post, but could not find it. The Breitbart “link” to the blog was not a clickable link.
I wound up buying the last POW/MIA T-shirt they had at the time. The museum was haunting as well.
I think owner’s of Volkswagens should be drawn and quartered.
Their cars burned in effigy.
Let’s add Porsche, and Audi owners..
Oh, oh, the sorrows..
Well now there’s a start. I was pointing out the inconsistencies of liberal who were tearing down Confederate monuments so I thought I’d mention one other.
PS: What do those cars have to do with the Civil War?
You’re kidding, right?
It’s all about social justice!
Hitler - Volkswagen.. Uh, duh...!!!
Oh, I forgot to add Henry Ford.
He was Hitler’s pen pal.
You want to talk about atrocities, look up Camp Douglas, just outside of Chicago.
What happened there had the blessings of Sec of War Stanton.
In a land of plenty untouched by war Confederate prisoners were starved.
Prisoners forced to “ride the wooden horse”, they had to sit astride a 2×4 ten feet off the ground with buckets of sand or stone tied to their feet for hours. If they fell off before they were taken down they were shot or bayoneted.
Men hung by their thumbs for the slightest infraction.
The bodies of the dead were sold to local medical schools until the doctors became so incensed by the conditions at the camp they refused to take bodies from there.
When one prominent doctor attempted to improve conditions he and his wife were arrested and held in prison.
Camp Douglas was where evil resided from 1861-1865.

Was there a Trial, presentation of Factual Evidence and a Verdict that I missed?
So, even Breitbart is joining in with the propagation of the Leftist agenda.
As far as I've heard the police haven't yet jumped to the deliberate conclusion.
