Dallas Mayor: Confederate Statues ‘Monuments Of Propaganda’
DFW CBS local ^ | 08/15/2017

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings called for the formation of a task force to determine the fate of Confederate statues sitting in Dallas public parks.

“This is simple. We could remove them, the question is, how do we heal on this issue? To do that we have to talk and listen to one another,” said Rawlings.

Coupled with citizen input, the task force will report to the city council during the next 90 days.

We are being played and there is no end in sight.

I wish I had a civil answer how to deal with these SCUM. My solutions are far from civil. The end game of the left is UGLY and most Americans refuse or are too stupid to see it. History does repeat and America is sinking.

Heal?!? Yeah, like there was healing when the Dallas schools decided to bus black students to predominately white schools and white students to predominately black schools in 1972. Diversity! Look how that turned out. I wouldn’t have been allowed to go to the high school located four houses down from my house until I was a Senior. After nearly being assaulted in class and attacked in the stairwell and having everything stolen that was set down, we followed the white flight outta town. Today, our old nice quiet middle class neighborhood is somewhere you don’t want to drive through in broad daylight.

When Texas finally secedes, we’re walling off Austin and leaving it behind. Hopefully, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio will straighten themselves up or we’ll do the same with them.

Does anyone question how it is, that all of a sudden, the issue of Confederate monuments is the most important issue in this country???

The Left has momentum and the media has given them moral authority. The only people showing up to defend the statues are waving nazi banners.

The Left doesn't waste time like we do. They strike while the iron is hot. Mark my words. Every Confederate statue in a public space will be gone by Columbus Day.

I sure as hell do.152,years since the end of slavery and no problems with statues over all that time. The left just got incredibly emboldened after 8 years of he who shall not be named. So they are going after the heart and soul of America. Wicked politicians and media aiding and abetting.

98 percent did not own slaves and were just fighting to defend their homeland against the invading forces. This is honorable and courageous, certainly not treason. Also, secession is secession, not treason. The north subjugated the south to the point of the south demanding to be free to set it’s own path. The north couldn’t allow this, they had to retain their enslaved southerners to sustain their economy which basically was raping the south. Lincoln followed the orders of his bosses and allowed over 600,00 young men to die so the north could continue to economically rape the south. This is the ugly truth about what happened. This could never be admitted as the truth, so “freeing the slaves” became the convenient toilet paper they used to wipe their stinky behinds with. I appreciate your ignorance because it allowed me to respond with the truth. Thank you.

The japing of our monuments are acts of moral bankruptcy.
It is not only Muslim fundamentalists who destroy cultural icons. Hate filled leftists oppose our very history. We lose our heritage to these insane zealots. They are the minions of Satan. They break down what we have spent our blood, our tears and our fortunes building up.
They tell me my ancestors are not worthy of respect. Those who hated my family 200 years ago still hate us today. They judge us by their own hatred, not by our love and honor.
There are no monuments erected with pride in our nation dedicated to the anarchy and violence of evil men.
Is this why they seek to destroy what we hold dear? Do they want a monument celebrating their ugly tirades? Let us give them one. Let us build a tribute to the insanity and malice of leftists everywhere.
Let it be prominently displayed where all can see the ignorance and meanness of spirit our very own political left, atheists, and baby killers have bestowed upon us. Let their true nature be so vividly portrayed that no one will misunderstand, these are the truly evil among us.

LOL... what a load.
go read the SC order of secession... it CLEARLY states SLAVERY was the main reason.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_the_Immediate_Causes_Which_Induce_and_Justify_the_Secession_of_South_Carolina_from_the_Federal_Union

The declaration stated the primary reasoning behind South Carolina’s declaring of secession from the U.S., which was described as “increasing hostility on the part of the non-slaveholding States to the Institution of Slavery”.[1]

Slavery was legal at that time, so your point is worthless. Cite those "other" reasons and you'll understand what I mean. The threat to the south was the abolition of slavery in the new territories as it would dilute the balance of power, politically, AGAINST the south. They were already being raped financially by the north. The last thing they wanted was to be placed in a politically untenable condition from which they would have NO power to represent THEIR best interest. This is why "slavery" is mentioned in their secession declarations. The south simply wanted independence. The north wanted to continue making slaves out of the south.

Slavery was legal when the war started. The south said goodbye, leave us alone. It was the actions of the north that led directly to war and the loss of over 600,000 young men in the prime of their lives. For what? The south had the moral right and duty to protect itself. All the north had to do was wave goodbye. If they wanted to end slavery, this was the best option, simply let those states who want to keep slavery leave the union and what you would have left is your perfect, slave-free society. That's not what happened is it? It wasn't about the high and mighty slavery crap. It was about the high and mighty dollar and how much they could chisel out of the south's economy instead of their own. Follow the money.

Lol...slavery WAS their interest. Was that the only reason of course not. But as I very clearly pointed out it was the main reason. Unless you want to convince me what they wrote was a lie....

Slavery was legal and not in danger of being made illegal at the time. The issue of slavery in these documents primarily dealt with the continued balance of slave versus non-slave states. Ask yourself for a second why would the south secede if they were safe from having slavery removed from their states? What was the real issue? It wasn’t to maintain slavery as an institution as that was not being threatened at the time. They were pissed about having one fourth the population of the north but still providing 90 percent of the tariff income that the country needed to run it’s government, the vast majority of which was being spent to enhance northern industrial interest. The north had a good little slave in the southern states and had no intention of allowing them to escape. The south had had enough and the north just said shut up and bend over. They, and their idea of a federal government that imposes it’s will on anything in it’s way won the war. That’s why we’re where we are today. The Russians didn’t do it. The Yankees did.

There was no reference to the concept of a US citizen in the Constitution at the time; a person could only be a citizen of his respective state. Because the US had no citizens, Confederates could not be charged with treason against the United States.

That changed with the 14th amendment. All Americans are now citizens of their state AND the US.

Also, this quote has been attributed to SCOTUS Chief Justice of the time, Salmon P Chase:

“If you bring these leaders to trial, it will condemn the North, for by the Constitution, secession is not rebellion...His [Jefferson Davis’] capture was a mistake. His trial will be a greater one. We cannot convict him of treason.”

‘Ask yourself for a second why would the south secede if they were safe from having slavery removed from their states?’

they seceded mostly for two reasons; they feared that the Republicans’ supposed agenda of no new slave states in the west would give unprecedented influence to abolitionists; and they also resented the fact that the free states could expand industrialization in the West, and the slave states couldn’t, as their slaves would be freed...and apparently it was too difficult for them to figure out an economic system not dependent on slave labor...

If the north was so concerned about the issue of slavery, why didn’t they just get rid of the problem altogether by letting the slave states secede? Of what interest was it to the north that they were willing to sacrifice the lives of over 600,000 young men in the prime of their lives to FORCE the south to remain part of the United States? The north was not going to eliminate slavery in the south, so it wasn’t the slavery issue which triggered the north’s aggressive posture. What was it? Please tell us.
