‘Racism is Evil’ — Donald Trump Condemns KKK, Neo-Nazis, and White Supremacists

President Donald Trump denounced hate groups at the White House on Monday, responding to critics of his response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virgina surrounding an alt-right rally.

“Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” Trump said.

The president made his remarks in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House after meeting with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the FBI Director Chris Wray.

Trump specifically named Heather Heyer, the 32-year-old woman killed during the protests after a reported Nazi sympathizer drove his car into a crowd of counter protesters.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence,” he said.

Saying that you want to keep some monuments is expressing an opinion.

Throwing bags of urine at people expressing an opinion is assault.

Assault is a crime.

It’s a serious crime.

“And of course the media reaction will be, “A day late, and a dollar short.”

Exactly what that A-Hole Gasperino on FBN said.

I will withhold judgement.

Had Trump said, “and BLM and ANTIFA, bla bla bla,”, the left would have said it is no different than the previous statement.

At another time, after some facts are gathered, perhaps with Sessions (yeah, I’m not a real big fan of the sloth) I hope Trump will then say some things and call them out as evil, in their own right. That message needs crafting.

Get back on the Trump train, babies...he isn’t perfect.

I am sure the President was advised to not name left groups so as not to equate them with the White Supremacists, even though that would be fair and accurate.

The game of the left is to take anyone they disagree with and place them in the racist category. They have gotten by with this for years.

Why didn’t Trump mention Antifa? The white group had a legal permit
to march peacefully. And it was peaceful until Antifa showed up with
bats and bottles and started the violence.

"...conspicuously missing..."

President Trump should have NEVER agreed to this absurd follow-up media press conference.
He encompassed all the assorted crappy groups in his initial discussion immediately after things happened in Charlottesville, VA.

It’s so hard, in fact, that novices like Unite The Right need to be circumspect. Go in there naively in today’s spiritual milieu, and the devil will feast on your ass. You need bouncers, good ones.

That’s what I found absurd. The FEDS (with that alpha-male Jeff Sessions firmly in charge) are investigating this as a race crime? How’s THAT? The woman who died was white. The guy who ran her over was white. Hmmmm. Seems to me that takes the race card out. How nice of our worthless government to play it nonetheless in order to placate the crybaby left.

He listed three terms that the media projected all weekend against many conservatives who are white but never Soros’ Antifa that smacked a reporter on the skull and sent her to the hospital??? I’m a white woman who wants borders but I was targeted by the media as an evil white Nationalist. He folded to Javanka. I expect he will dismiss Bannon soon too. He already is squeamish on DACA and again today backed Luther Strange.

Appropriate statement. However, he should also name the Antifa by name for pulling out bats and assaulting people/cars with them. Everyone involved in ANY violence must be prosecuted.

Overall an excellent speech by President Trump. But I do agree with your statement above.

Truly Orwellian moment in this country.

Left wing groups plan, arm for and initiate violence against a legal, constitutionally protected political demonstration; the police refuse to protect those it is legally and constitutionally obligated to protect.
Large numbers of legal demonstrators are physically assaulted then totally contrary to the easily observable facts the legal protestors are blamed for the violence by the media, both republican and democratic politicians.

To the point even pointing out that the left precipitated the violence causes you to be accused of being a racist.

Thus echoing Orwell, speaking the readily observable and indisputable truth will get you attacked and denounced.

Trump is not helping himself with his one sided blame.

‘Well, if he thinks racism is evil, then he is also condemning BLM.’

you’re completely missing the elephant in the corner; a plurality of people on this website were all over Mike Pence, who said basically the same thing Trump just said...all things being equal, those same people have to now come out and bash Trump as well...

Staged. You got that right.

Antifa used Unite the Right like the useful idiots they are.

Trump’s first instinct condemning the “many sides” was accurate and correct.

This myopic one sided condemnation today is pathetic. He will deserve criticism from the left and the right.

The FEDS (with that alpha-male Jeff Sessions firmly in charge) are investigating this as a race crime?

I don't know if that's true at all. The Feds would be involved if it is a "civil rights" issue -- and that term is very broad and covers a lot of ground.

If anything, it might say more about the potential legal exposure of local law enforcement than anything else.

And is the result of lies and actions by those on the left. The leftist and liberal groups are the real sponsors of racism, anger and hate. Wake up Americans.
