WASHINGTON — The U.S. Capitol Police Department opened an internal investigation into why its elite tactical team was initially directed to respond to the wrong location when a gunman opened fire last month at a GOP congressional baseball practice, according to two people familiar with the matter.
Instead of responding directly to the Virginia field where House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and several others were shot, members of the Capitol Police Containment and Emergency Response Team were signaled instead to go to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s house in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, several miles away,

A conspiracy theorist would say the police were sent to Nancy’s Place as a distraction. They would be so delayed in coming to Scalise’s aid that he would have bled to death while waiting for help.
Who send’s someone to the Pelosi residence by mistake at such a moment? An anonymous, similar sounding address, yes, I could see that. But not someone like Pelosi, known throughout the American political world. This was a deliberate delay.

Forgive me for thinking that this sounds much more plausible than a conspiracy to let Scalise bleed out. Human error is endemic in every human endeavor.
I want to know when they’re going to stop lionizing the two Capitol Police that were on the scene as cover for Scalise as Majority Whip. Those two were clearly out of position and slow to react/deploy. Because of those factors and generally poor tactics, they got shot but I’ll grant they did take down the raging Bernie-Backer. That’s what really needs to be exposed by an IA investigation, IMO.
The analyzed all 330 million people in the country to find the one most likely to shoot the Republican majority whip and came up with Pelosi?

All really meaningless because the field was miles away from Capitol and other agencies were much closer.
CPD had officers there because Members were there, but it was 155 minutes away from their HQ.
When you need them, the cops are only minutes away, unless they get sent to the wrong place, then it’s a little longer.
I would wager that one of the things that comes out of this is activating the available position tracking for USCP radios.
But they know where the nearest donut shop is.
And with all this technology, communication networks, etc...Amazing.

I would imagine this ‘elite’ team, was just practicing getting the address wrong on their next no-knock warrant. Happens all the time. Shouldn’t surprise anyone.
