People: Think before you leap.

One of the things that pisses me off more than most is that: If a conservative doesn’t like a TV show, we change the channel. If we think 32 oz sodas are bad for us, we don’t buy them. A Leftist thinks the solution is to ban from TV those things they don’t like or pass a law that prohibits you from buying a 32 oz soda. Simply stated, Leftists want to restrict my choices and lessen my freedom where Conservatives promote responsible choice and self-determination.

Personally, I think this pro-gay cartoon is wrong, so if I had preschoolers around me, I would probably change the channel. However, I would stop short of banning the cartoon for the reasons I just mentioned. Don’t turn into a Leftist who restricts freedom. Rather, monitor what your kids and grandkids watch. When they get old enough to make informed choices on their own, the best you can do is let them make their own mistakes and learn the consequences of being responsible for your own actions.

One thing which frustrates me, is that leftist types are in charge of TV programming. They are the ones who push these objectionable programs on the rest of us. They are the ones who see nothing wrong with such programming. They think that somehow they want to “educate” us about how wonderful homosexuality and liberal views are.

And I’m sure these types of people would never allow a program about characters who go to church, or have two married opposite sex parents. They consider that objectionable; they consider that somehow as pushing something on people which should not be pushed.

And it frustrates me that we all know, that such programming would simply not have been allowed to be on TV years ago. It’s like night and day, to see TV shows from decades ago, and TV shows nowadays, in terms of the subject matter, language used, topics hinted at, etc.

You would ‘probably’ change the channel?

And who is winning the culture war?

I understand what you're saying, and pre-Obama I would have agreed with you, but draining the swamp culture-wise means expressing deep opposition to garbage like this--and just changing the channel doesn't do it anymore. Look where that has gotten us.

I would ask you to contemplate something for a moment.

Suppose you were living in Salem Massachusetts around 1692, and there was someone out on the street corner preaching that you and your family were witches.

Do you think "turning the channel" is an appropriate way to behave in such a circumstance?
