Poll Shows Roy Moore leading in the first round Republican US Senate primary in Alabama
8/9/2017 | Self

I was searching and found some new polling data from Alabama where the first round of the Republican primary for US Senate is next Tuesday August 15th.

The top two candidates move onto the second round.

The poll from JMC Analytics and Polling shows Roy Moore now at 30 percent, Luther Strange (appointed Senator supported by Mitch McConnell) at 22 percent and Congressman Mo Brooks at 19 percent.

A previous poll at Strange at 35 percent, Moore at 26 percent and Brooks at 16 percent in a 19 candidate field.

The "Strange Endorsement" of Strange by President Trump has come down in the last 24 hours.

Moore will set DC on its ear. Vote for him.

I hope he wins it. I do not fault Trump his strange endorsement. He has other calculations to make. Strange is already getting the RNC money so Trump’s endorsement doesn’t bring that. If DJT doesn’t follow up with speeches for Luth in Alabama, I think the endorsement will not change the result. Alabamans know that the strange one is the RNC candidate and that does not cause them to be enthusiastic.

This poll is about the US Senate primary for next Tuesday August 15th, 2017 in Alabama, not other races.

I don’t know about those.

The race in AZ (Flaky) isn’t until next year. SC (Linda) isn’t until 2020.

Is this before or after Trump endorsed Luther Strange?

So there’s an open seat in Alabama?

I suspect a deal to get something passed in Congress with the McConnell. Trump doesn’t do these things on a whim. If he gets something out of it from Congress and doesn’t get saddled the strange dude from Alabama then it is a win-win. I wonder what his guys are doing on the QT in Alabama.

You posted another poll earlier with Strange leading at 35%.
This poll shows Moore leading by a wide margin.
It will be interesting to see which polling group gets it right.

Either one shows Moore in the top two and Brooks in a distant 3rd.

I’m pulling for Moore because his victory would send a shock wave
to both the RINO’s and the fake conservatives.
Get behind Trumps agenda or get voted out.

Judge Moore has won two statewide elections.
Mo Brooks has never won a statewide election.

A Moore victory after the trump strange endorsement would be especially delicious- for DJT as well as for us.

Trump seems to be backing away from the “religiously radioactive” guy.

There are a number of good theological reasons to not venture to make the Ten Commandments the template of US secular law. For one thing they are too powerful for where we are. You see the two love commandments? I’m surprised they don’t have our left swooning over the opportunity to define what that looks like.

Trump also seems to be backing away from the guy who trashed him in the primaries too.

“Yep. Jeff Sessions seat.

Strange was appointed by the now removed Alabama Governor Bentley when Sessions was appointed AG. But Alabama law says that at the next regular election an appointed US Senator must stand for election. So Strange is the incumbent.
