Yeah, some believe he could do it.

Frankly I don’t know what his intentions with Guam are.

Seems like a very bad place to be poking the bear. Obviously, he’s holding Seoul hostage.

EMP takes out electronics. Done well it takes most of them out. We did it accidentally to parts of Hawaiis power grid in the sixties

EMPs are real. No joke. And no they don’t do as much damage as close airburst. (You don’t set off nukes on the ground)

I’m still pitching for them to refurbish those Wake Island launch sites. For... reasons.

Nice to see the #NeverHappen crew haven't found this thread. Yet.

The one scenario that will put Kim Nuke Fat into launch mode is one where he genuinely believes - with or without legitimate reason - that a decapitation scenario is underway, by internal [KPA] or borderland [SK/CH] or external forces [US].

This scenario, therefore, is an inevitability with a foreseeable timeline that will be as forensically obvious afterward as the chalk outline around Nicole Simpson...

“EMP takes out electronics.”

No, it does not arbitrarily take out ALL electronics. It can only take out those connected to a long enough wire to gather the pulse. Simple electromagnetic induction, and first year engineering student understands but apparently most adult don’t.

That laptop in your hand won’t be effected. It isn’t connected to a wire, and not even a small Ethernet cable will do. It may, might, maybe reboot, but it won’t be destroyed.

“(You don’t set off nukes on the ground)”

Yes, you do. Ground bursts create far more damage than an air burst.

The Internet is a sorry excuse for information if you don’t know what you are looking at. Unfortunately for the planet, very few people know how to discern fact from fiction.

Hawaii was a territory at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack.

I hope China decides at their Communist Party Congress this fall that a less volatile North Korea would be in their best interest.

The Norks have crossed the Red Line that the President set down earlier today. Time to find out what he meant by “fire and fury”.

EMP would have a minimal effect on NK civilians. Most of them have no electricity anyway.

Very true. So then our options are limited to only what kind of military action we have to go to.

It’ll fry every major power plant in the area including transformers and stations and even power lines. No grid. Maybe for 6 month your more. Means that laptop that works most likely won’t have wifi or hard wired internet to plug into. That will be the same for you smart phones too.

Guam is a natural target for NK.
1. Lots of Japanese and S. Korean tourist
2.Big AFB and navy yard
3. It is closer than other places
4. Kim jungnotwellhung knows I make fun of him

This is actually rather disturbing, we have friends coming from the UK next week.

Ground bursts are “dirtier,” in that they produce more fallout.
