Cops have destroyed NYC businesses when they feel oppressed.

Really? Businesses plural?

Apart from the example you gave (despite knowing most small businesses fail due to poor management), please list a few more for us.

Michelle’s Diner. Put out of business by cops; it’s main clientele was students from the nearby police academy. I know, I used the diner across from Michelle’s before heading
to The Players (Club) and the bulk of the customers were the police students there, too.

When the owner complained about illegal parking by cops, they started a boycott and everyone was too intimidated to complain except, of course, the great, late Nat Hentoff. Curtis Sliwa may have gotten involved too, I forget.

You can do your own research on other such occurrances.

Just because one stupid and inept employee made a firing offense, is no reason to boycott Dunkin’ Donuts - a reasonable chain in a very expensive city.

I like cops, I support cops. But not when they start that stuff.
