President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed a hostile tweet storm on Sen. Richard Blumenthal, making a number of claims against the Connecticut Democrat, including that he had lied about serving in Vietnam.
Trump's Twitter fusillade was apparently set off by Blumenthal's appearance on CNN earlier Monday in which he spoke about the investigation into the Trump campaign's alleged ties to Russia. "I think is very important to protect and safeguard the independence and integrity of that investigation," Blumenthal said.
Later Monday, Trump suggested Blumenthal take a long vacation in Vietnam "so he can at say he was there."

I don't think Trump is upset about this stuff or lets it get to him.
I think he fires off tweets as if he were throwing a dog a bone. "Fetch! Go play with that for a while. I've got work to do."
Tweets like this are shiny things to keep the media occupied. Funny, after all this time they still haven't figured it out yet.

Trump is not getting off message or off agenda. The tweets took like three minutes. That leaves the other 837 minutes of his 14 hr day open for agenda and message.
While being stitched for the head wound he asked if this qualified him for a Purple Heart.

Trump could, as you say, be a genius in certain areas. But he really doesn’t have to be, to outwit the MSM. No matter how many times he plays them, they keep falling for the same tactics. Their hatred of him blinds them, so that when he starts tweeting they lose all perspective. They just want to catch him at something—anything—so they keep falling headlong into his traps.
Of the 16 republicans that ran against him, Trump is the only one that could have beat Clinton...he showed em how you handl 20 years it’ll be taught e the media...its legendary now...it will be talked about and studied for years to come...CNN just had a special tonight trying to figure out how he pulled it off.
