Like many young women, Ria Cooper dreams of one day getting married and having children. But the 23-year-old knows the odds are stacked against her. Not only because she was born a boy, but because she has now switched gender an astonishing three times in her short life.
Ria who was born Brad became Britains youngest sex-swap patient at 15. Doctors controversially backed her belief she was a girl in a boys body.
She was given blockers to stop her going through puberty, followed by injections of female hormones to impede face and chest hair and trigger the formation of breasts.
But with her life spiralling out of control as she struggled with her new identity and the fears of never being accepted as a woman Ria decided to transition back and live her life instead as a gay man.
Before having crucial surgery, she ended her treatment and became Brad again soon after her 18th birthday.

There could be a wave of lawsuits later.
It is malpractice to treat mental illness with surgery.
It is like treating anorexia with bariatric (stomach-reducing) surgery.
“She was given blockers to stop her going through puberty, followed by injections of female hormones to impede face and chest hair and trigger the formation of breasts....”
Well, if Brad was truly born a female, none of the above would’ve been necessary...amiright?
she/he/it can be truncated to a four letter word that describes this idiocy.
If a woman was born thinking she was ‘beautiful’ (but she wasn’t) could she join the U.S. Military and have taxpayers pay $50,000 for her ‘reality’?
How about if during the year she was getting surguries on the TAXPAYERS DIME she could NOT serve overseas where she was needed BECAUSE SHE HAD TO BE CLOSE TO THE BASE HOSPITALS?
That’s what happens with transgenders.
What if these expensive surgeries happened during a time fighter jets were kept active by taking parts from ‘grave yard’ jets?
OK, this isn’t totally related but I’m sick of this whole delusion. None of us would become a bird if feathers were inserted under our skins. These folks would NOT become PIGS if a pig’s snout was put on their faces either.
On their own dime fine - on ours - NO... Our Department of Defense in nuts.
What is insane is the article.

Knock at the door.
Person opens the door “yes?”
Showing a scalpel “I’m here to repossess your penis”.
ROFL
I wonder if doctors have thought about giving more of the male hormones to males who think they are female, or more of the female hormones to females who think they are males. Perhaps their bodies either aren’t producing enough, or aren’t being utilized by the body, in a similar way to my son who was given growth hormone as a teenager when he was more than 2 standard deviations smaller than the growth chart average.
That’s an interesting approach, and should be tried with kids claiming/choosing to be opposite sex. Gotta be better than the slice & dice approach.
The "doper class" on this forum seems to think that marijuana is the answer. As a parent, I would have tried (and paid) anything, even to save an aging dog.
Amazing simply amazing and just too plain obvious logical suggestion. You should be given an award for such a brilliant idea. It's such an easy solution.
I googled Ria Cooper ...
That is a guy trying to play dress up.
It will never live to see 30.
I would love to know if any research on this has ever been suggested or attempted. Perhaps retired (read:forced into retirement) Dr. Paul McHugh would know if this has been tried. It seems like it would be less harmful than the protocol they are trying these days.
Sounds like all he's done so far is have a boob job on this third go-round. I don't think taking hormones (and stopping) really counts as "surgery".
Yes, it’s a man on hormone shots w/enormous boobs who runs a transgender salon and wants to “have” a baby. And has been suicidal (shocker!).
Which will make it child abuse upon child abuse.
It is one thing to keep trying, as long as there are treatments that have been scientific established to improve health. But when the condition is terminal and so rare that the scientific understanding of it is almost non-existent, then it is time to accept that nothing can be done.
Quacks still get rich by preying on people who are so desperate for treatments that they will do anything.
