I got Court Marshalled for disobeying a lawful order. Lucky for me I was just busted down to Pvt. and fined. Could have been a lot worse.

I retired before anything could happen to me. 😀 I was experiencing burn out, and at the end, it was hard to keep a civil tongue in my mouth. I think it was the career field I was in. Officers don't like being told what to do, by enlisted guys, so it got old pretty quickly. My son has the right idea. He is going to OTS soon.

Yep. My C/M was because of a run in with a cherry Lt. who was embarrassed by me in front of our Battalion Top. He never forgot it and was able to push me the wrong way one day. I was lucky cause I could have been discharged dishonorably with just months to go in my enlistment. I know other guys who lost an honorable discharge for less then I did.

“Officers don't like being told what to do, by enlisted guys, so it got old pretty quickly.” My situation exactly. I got on the wrong side of a inexperienced Lt. and almost ruined my life because of it. Doesn't help though when your young and cocky and won't back down from a fight. wisdom comes with age.
