“Officers don't like being told what to do, by enlisted guys, so it got old pretty quickly.” My situation exactly. I got on the wrong side of a inexperienced Lt. and almost ruined my life because of it. Doesn't help though when your young and cocky and won't back down from a fight. wisdom comes with age.

I was an air traffic controller, so Air Force regulations require officers to do what we told them to do, but they were not required to like it. It was always an adversarial relationship. After 20 years, I could not handle anymore, and retired at the earliest possible moment. I don’t think I would do it again, or would have chosen a different job.
