> scene after scene after scene

Rewind to this time last year:

Jul/Aug - DNC claims their system was hacked. “This is an attack on our democracy etc”. But NO YOU CAN’T INVESTIGATE IT, JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT. We say “it’s the Russians and Trump colluded with them” (zero evidence of Trump involvement, but it’s the seriousness of the charge) - Just take our word for it.

Sep - DNI Clapper takes their word for it. He takes a report produced by a Democrat connected company, dresses it up, and persuades Comey and Jeh Johnson to sign on to it. Disregard the fact that other vendors disputed the reports conclusions.

Nov/Dec - Clapper’s report is reissued with little new info just more terse language.

Dec - bogus dirty dossier released by DNC connected company

Jan-May Continuous Democrat caterwauling about “our democracy”, Russia Russia Russia, Trump collusion. Continuous CNN/WaPo/NYT smears

Mar - Crowdstrike retracts a large part of the report DNI relied upon

May/Jun - Comey fired, testifies there was a counterintelligence investigation and that Trump is not being investigated

Jun/Jul - Rosenstein appoints special council, special council investigates Trumps business deals and taxes from ten years ago, conducts taxpayer funded oppo research for Democrats (recall how during the campaign they repeatedly demanded to see his taxes because well Russia Russia Russia... without a shred of evidence, but we need to see those taxes so we can go fishing)

The script writers have spun this up out of nothing.

IF their system was hacked then an investigation MUST be allowed - otherwise the accusation is campaign rhetoric. Democrats can’t have it both ways, either “this is an attack on our democracy” which warrants investigation or it’s partisan accusations. They have refused investigation, which leaves only partisan rhetoric. Oh, and let’s not overlook the Awan gang, who very well may be the source of wikileak’s email, let’s not overlook DWS stonewalling, threats, and thwarting of that investigation.

Yes. Scene after scene after scene will be played out. The narrative will be maintained.

Pathetic.

No way. Sessions is a patriot and he and Trump are on the same page.

I agree. The consensus on Maria Bartiromo's show this morning was that the whole Sessions twitter storm was misdirection and Session's was in on it. I thought that was a possibility from the beginning and hoped it was the case.

I'd also like to point out to people who are complaining that Sessions is doing nothing about whatever, that we have NO WAY of knowing what the Justice Department is really up to until indictments are handed down. If the AG and his team are going after democrats you can bet that the people investigating have been hand picked and are operating under the radar. I may be way off base but I just don't think Jeff Sessions is sitting in his office playing Bejeweled Blitz on his computer all day.

We had 8 FARKING YEARS OF WHOLESALE TREASON AND LAWLESSNESS with no JUSTICE...pull till ya hear a pop, goron.

The first thing that rat bastard does is buckle to the dems & recuse himself for some arcane reason, giving fuel to the ‘russia bullsh!t’ and creating a special counsel to investigate TRUMP!

Sessions is directly responsible for keeping this russia hysteria in the news and derailing the Trump agenda(America’s Agenda).
He may just succeed in getting Trump impeached.

moron.

Yeah... so have him come out and announce some indictments, not this self-serving political “we’re on the job!” BS.

Don't let me CATCH you doing that again.

Nada. It would have been excellent if Sessions had read a list of names whose "charges are being filed as we speak." So for eight months, they've been doing nothing productive.

Interesting slip of the tongue. Dan Coats keeps referring to the intelligence community and what is happening there, then he says it also is happening in the “executive branch”.

Exactly what branch of government does this dumbass think the intelligence community is in?

“... that the whole Sessions twitter storm was misdirection and Session’s was in on it.”

It wasn’t. Only idiots think that.

Sessions is refusing to step down. Why?

Why did Lindsey Graham say, “There will be hell to pay if Trump fires Sessions”??

Do I need to connect the dots? /s

Not to worry though, the Senate is taking August off. But just to stick it to Trump they will be in Session every three days. Can’t have Trump making any recess appointments. Oh and those 100 nominees... that can wait.

The Republican party... there are no words for these degenerates.

And this press conference was more feckless crap from two senators. Just words and a statement. They think that matters?

The leakers are laughing at him.

The only thing that would scare them is a few arrests of these Obamaites and GOP never Trumpers who are doing this.
And a wholesale firing of Obama holdovers. They respect action, and laugh at strongly worded warnings.

“Yeah! Leaks are bad! We’re really on it!” doesn’t cut it, Jeff. I want to see people named and arrested, not hear Sessions read a prepared statement about what a great job they’re doing (when everyone can see that they’re NOT).

You must have a comprehension problem. There are four criminal investigations of leakers underway and triple the number of criminal referrals to the FBI on leakers. It is DOJ policy not to name who is being investigated and prosecuted for ongoing cases.

He also let the MSM know that they are not exempt from being charged. Obama went after the MSM and had one reporter jailed for not cooperating.

I suggest you read the text of Sessions statement once available. Once people digest it, you are going to see the MSM and the Dems go ballistic. Sessions will be compared to Hitler.

“But just to stick it to Trump they will be in Session every three days.”

The GOP runs the Senate. This is 100% at the feet of the Republican party attacking Trump like this.

Feckless. Not a single arrest of a White House leaker. Not a single arrest of any other executive branch leaker such as in DOJ, State, DOD, or intelligence community.

Feckless.

Sessions is not the problem. He didn't fire Comey or say that the real reason he was fired was due to his hanlding of the Russia investigation. He didn't have a meeting with a Russian lawyer claiming she was bringing information helpful to the campaign from the Russian government. He didn't hire Manafort who had close dealings with Ukraine. Or include Carter Page on the campaign team despite his close dealings with the Russians over many years and that we now learn had a FISA warrant against him in 2014. Jerk

Sessions recused himself due to the recommendation from the DOJ Ethics office that recusal was in accord with DOJ policy. Giuliai said he would have recused himself under the circumstances.

If he’s not going after the journalist then he’s not taking it seriously and can shut up because nothing will get resolved

FYI, today’s Wall Street Journal has an opinion article by Kimberley Strassel entitled “The Scandal That Matters” (page A13). The article focusses on Awan and his family’s IT service for top Democrats and mentions Ms. Wasserman Schultz. I had been surprised the WSJ hadn’t covered this situation before, as far as I knew, but I was pleased to see them cover it today.
