Senate blocks Trump from making recess appointments
Axios ^ | August 3, 2017 | Susan Walsh

Posted on 08/03/2017 6:32:33 PM PDT by Pinkbell

The Senate moved unanimously to block President Trump from making appointments during the August break this evening. Democrats had said they'd make such a move after reports emerged that Trump was considering replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the recess.

The Senate agreed to hold pro forma sessions throughout the recess. This procedure was also used to block appointments during the Obama administration.

Worth noting: the announcement was made by moderate Republican Lisa Murkowski, who split from Trump over health care. The Senate also made a slew of confirmations and passed several measures before shutting down for the summer.

Another update: The Senate will not hold any legislative sessions until September. Mitch McConnell had previously intended to delay the break until August 11 to allow the now-stalled health care plan to move forward.

The ballot box has been effectively neutered, as the Republicans turn on their voters. Rubio would like to get rid of the soap box. Any other boxes left?

Under the principle of separation of powers, does the Senate have the right to do this?

While those punks are on recess he should hold mega rallies in their states and call out the backstabbing republican traitors by name.

He could revoke one of the kenyan’s unconstitutional Executive Orders ever day I think.

this kind of krap was necessary against an islamonazi foreign agent in the White House

but should NOT be used against a brand new, American president like DJT who is still trying to fill his administration’s posts

it is especially sad that “his own party” in charge of Congress is doing this

the GOPe leadership is trying to undermine our new President ... even before he can do anything wrong! They don’t give a hoot that we elected DJT....they aren’t giving him even a chance to fill his government and show us what he can do for us

It is so very very very sad .......
so very sad!

Which is why we are witnessing in real time the END OF THE REPUBLIC.

History teaches only a DICTATORSHIP can save the nation.

Some feel it's time to apply the Alinsky Rules, as the Clintons have done effectively. Not just take it but go actively after these Senators.

Sharyl Attkisson presents some thought provoking observations in her latest book "The Smear."

I's guess all those senators have skeletons in their closet. Maybe the time has passed for playing nice.

“Kinda like voting for a third party candidate and the election goes to the DIMS!”

Oh really? When has there ever been a “third party candidate” who was already serving as president with massive public support? What do you suggest?

Trump is the Republican party’s main fund-raiser. A threat to start his own party would terrify them. He has enormous political power that so far he hasn’t really put to use.

They aren’t going into recess but keeping the Senate in

“We have to start removing the weasels with the Amnesty Senators”

We have been playing the “We have to remove them” crap for years. We are beyond that, its time for the Republican Party to die. Trump should go third party. Screw these Repulicrats.

He should make “Czar” hirings like Obama did. No need for appointments, the temporary Czars can do the job.

There are boxes left. They are heavy, and carry metallic objects.
