OK with me if this is what senators want to waste their time with. I don't think Trump is seriously considering canning this guy anyway. Don't think the pres is afraid of what he'll find out.

If I'm not mistaken this is an invasion into another branch of the government where the President has exclusive power to fire Mueller for whatever reason he wants and Congress has no constitutional authority to interfere (Judicial verses Congressional branch). Trump may invite trouble if he did but is well within his power to do so. Of course I stand to be corrected here.

Of course I can't see Trump firing Mueller of which I personally think Mueller should be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Sorry now that Hagan didn’t beat Tillis. She was no worse a dem than Tillis has proven to be and at least she cared about NC. Tillis could care less that Trump carried NC. I pray God deals justice to Tillis.

Things are getting more bizarre by the day. I’m beginning to worry a little. Everyday an up then a down. What a ride.

If Congress wants to hire Mueller Trump cannot fire him. So long as Mueller is on Trump’s payroll he is fair game for the POTUS to can.

Even if they get as far as passing a bill, it would take a while...then Trump would veto it, then they would have to go back and get two thirds of both the House and Senate in order to override the veto...highly unlikely.

All this would take a while. In the meantime, Trump can fire Mueller before the law takes effect.

Trump should dismiss Mueller, who is putting together a totally biased team whose primary aim is to attack the president.

So, if Mueller abuses his position he is protected by a separate Branch of Government?

Wow, that Constitution thingy is so confusing.

The Witch Hunt continues.

Mueller has already done what is necessary to protect himself behind a wall of public opinion. His firing would bring a reaction like that which surrounded Archibald Cox.

It probably isn’t constitutional, but maybe you noticed that, that doesn’t seem to matter any more. We apparently only have the appearance of free election, if the permanent state doesn’t agree with the people’s choice then there isn’t really anything we are allowed to do about it.

North Carolina’s own, illustrious, GOPe, RINO extraordinaire, Thom Tillis, (R-NC) takes the stage. He is fighting President Trump all the way. He and Richard Burr (R-NC) RINO GOPe both need to be voted out!!!

Exactly. Congress has no more power to tell the President who he can hire/fire than the President can name chairmen to congressional committees.

DJT must, before the GOP/Rat coup goes any further, fire Mueller tonight.

America will applaud.

Everyone seems to have forgotten that Mueller was hired based on the phony and completely discredited “golden shower” dossier.

Why the Hell does the guy still have a job?

Senators propose bill to protect Robert Mueller from being fired

The Chief Executive has the Constitutional power to fire anybody in the executive branch.

Similarly, Trump should write an EO that says that Senators can't pass any laws.

What would work better, is to do an “Alinsky Rule #13” on Mueller - “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

The apparent “impartiality” of Robert Mueller should be immediately be called into question, as he is ANYTHING but unbiased in this one-sided and obviously stack deck.

True...leave it to the kabuki party to try and change the Constitution through ‘legislation’.
