Study details effect of glacial versus nonglacial weathering on carbon cycle
Date:July 31, 2017
Source:Rice University Summary:
Weathering of Earth by glaciers may have warmed the planet over eons by aiding the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A new study shows the cumulative effect may have created negative feedback that prevented runaway glaciation.

So, if glaciers are warming the erf, must mean that the retreating glaciers is good nooz (?)
Fantastic references! Thank you!
Volcanos are a primary source of CO2 and unanswered by exposed mountains and algae or other plants you would get warming regardless of water which would still be in the atmosphere from sunlight on the ice. The low temps wouldn’t be as extreme as in Antarctica which is admittedly very dry.
Well... not if you go by their “reasoning” of carbon dioxide release from the glaciers. :)

So in this they are saying the friction of the glacier moving is creating the heat source to release it?
Glad to assist! ;-)
The “No Smoking Hot Spot” articles (2 links to same article, different web pages. It’s overkill so sue me, lol) is a real good one. Easy to understand and it totally smokes the Greenhouse Theory as a source of any warming. The theory itself negates greenhouse warming as occurring at this time.
The five links to physics-based articles get into more technical info but they’re still understandable to most laymen. The great thing about them is that all five are based on different premises so they are not simply different takes on the same point. All of them reduce the theory that CO2 is some great magical heat storage molecule to absurdity.
In college I bet a guy $5 that hot water freezes faster than cold because it has greater “cooling momentum.” When he was distracted, a friend switched the hot water tray with an identical one that was already frozen, and we split the winnings.
I’m guessing that the experience caused him to become a climate scientist.
I am going to go dig into them in a bit. Got to go give a diabetic dog her shot so she can eat dinner. :)
The ice will reflect the heat from the sun back into space.
Aww, poor doggy. But lucky to have you. Well, family first of course! :)
Thank you for explaining this! :)
A few years ago this might have been true Re an icebox. Modern fridges do the opposite.
Just dallying is all.
Ya. Me too. :)
Few people know the meaning of icebox.
Having grown up in a military family I would really like to respond to that; but I won’t.
It does not. Freon and electricity does. If you live in Denver, most of the electricity came from coal. :)
Yep - many may have forgotten the kerosene refrigerators.
