Study details effect of glacial versus nonglacial weathering on carbon cycle
Date:July 31, 2017
Source:Rice University Summary:
Weathering of Earth by glaciers may have warmed the planet over eons by aiding the release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. A new study shows the cumulative effect may have created negative feedback that prevented runaway glaciation.

Why does ice keep my fridge cold?
Science Denier!
The glaciers “created negative feedback”?
Well, let’s just put them in the box until they get their minds right.
Lol...Go move it around and it will warm up in there.
There really is no such thing as “too far” for these people. Now, ice ages cause global warming.
Actually heat keeps your fridge cold.
“runaway glaciation”
Hmmm.
Yeah, the headline grabbed me and made me chuckle. What they are hinting at here is the release of carbon dioxide. Which would once again be an effort to paint this gas as a greenhouse gas.
that might be true if you disregard thermodynamics
factually, glaciers are a heat sink. glaciers absorb heat
From friction?, or being a mass at a lower temp than the air?
All right....which one of you republicans made the glaciers melt?
The glaciers covered so much ground that the production of oxygen from plants was reduced and CO2 remained in the atmosphere warming it eventually. The main carbon sink wasn’t there.
As water grows colder, its ability to hold carbon dioxide in solution INCREASES. Once water freezes, the carbon dioxide already in solution is, well, frozen in place.
Only when an external heat source is applied to the now frozen-down system, converting the solid form of ice to liquid water, does the water begin to give up its dissolved carbon dioxide, passing it into the atmosphere.
Carbon dioxide contributes VERY little to heat transference at any point of the phase change of ice to water to water vapor. But this phase change of water is a POWERFUL heat transfer system.
The climate change cult members are grasping at the most ridiculous straws to justify their position.
I sense they know the gravy train is pulling into the station only it’s not the destination they were hoping for.
So heat should freeze icebergs. Got it.
I was thinking of this list of things that cause global warming:

It’s entertaining. You can click on any item and read the newspaper article.
Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide - Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts? By Timothy BallNo Smoking Hot Spot (The Australian)
Those two articles take Greenhouse Theory at face value and by the criterion set up in the theory itself finds no evidence of warming on the basis of greenhouse effect.
Sky-high hole blown in AGW theory?
"Forbes reports on a peer-reviewed study that uses NASA data to show that the effects of carbon-based warming have been significantly exaggerated. In fact, much of the heat goes out into space rather than stay trapped in the atmosphere, an outcome that started long before AGW alarmists predicted:"
That article explains why no Hot Spot has been found.

Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics
Harvard astrophysicist dismisses AGW theory, challenges peers to 'take back climate science'
It Is Impossible For A 100 ppm Increase In Atmospheric CO2 Concentration To Cause Global Warming
Simple Chemistry and the Real Greenhouse Effect.
Those five articles each show that Greenhouse Theory itself has no basis in reality due to a direct conflict with the known laws of physics. No wonder the smoking gun "hotspot" can't be found.
Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud
That article kills any thought of planetary warming from any cause. Think about it. If there is absolutely no sign of an acceleration of sea level rise how could the planet be warming? The rise in sea level in the last 100 years is far less than the average over the last 18,000 years caused by the inter-glacial period we are in.
I thought it was Gore’s constant bloviating...
