Well then, ask your sister about why so many pet owners have their elderly dogs titer tested to prove immunity rather than subjecting them to a vaccination. It’s well-known that vaccination stresses the immune system of even healthy animals. That doesn’t make vaccination bad per se, but it does throw into question the modern practice of creating combination vaccines as well as vaccination more frequently than is necessary to maintain immunity to a given disease.
“Well then, ask your sister about why so many pet owners have their elderly dogs titer tested to prove immunity rather than subjecting them to a vaccination”
Oh yeah, right. ONE disease in dogs that only have a few years left. Like that proves a point.
“Its well-known that vaccination stresses the immune system of even healthy animals.”
DUH! That is the WHOLE POINT OF VACCINATION! If it did not stress them it would not provide immunity.
“as well as vaccination more frequently than is necessary to maintain immunity to a given disease.”
DUH!!! You can’t do it LESS than is necessary to maintain immunity. And there is no hard and fast line where you are CERTAIN it gives 100% coverage... So clearly you have no choice but to err on the side of “more frequently”.
Vets make more profit on vaccines than just about anything else.
