I'm not necessarily religious, but I'm a born-again spirit-filled Christian and I am completely analytical. This stupid "study" is b/s.
However, from my experience, especially recently, Leftist people are incredibly irrational and emotional. The fact is the Left cannot hold a cogent argument for why they believe what they believe. They lose a rational debate in the forum of ideas every time.

I’ve yet to meet an atheist who could deal with an honest discussion of God, the universe and the scientific method. Their usual response when we’re just a little bit in has consistently been some variation of, “Oh, I don’t want to talk about it.”
