WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump’s newly appointed communications director publicly acknowledged his power struggle with the White House chief of staff and said their differences may be too wide to bridge.

Anthony Scaramucci, who joined the White House last week and reports directly to the president rather than to the chief of staff, as is customary, said in a CNN interview that he and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus have been at odds

“We have had differences. When I said we were brothers from the podium, that’s because we’re rough on each other,” he said, referring to a comment he made last week. “Some brothers are like Cain and Abel. Other brothers can fight with each other and get along.” He continued: “I don’t know if this is reparable or not, that will be up to the president.”

I watched it go down in real time last night.

I can’t speak to the actual specifics of the article in terms of conversation.. but it makes sense . Also, he acted nutty this morning too.

He met with Hannity , Bill Shine, and trump last night..and then the melee started.

I saw some reference to a cryptic message about Shine from him..can’t remember where..but using Shine’s name in way about shining the box on leakers or something..I gotta go see if I can find it.

Trump must have known this. He wants a Pit Bull almost off the leash, but Scaramucci has to pace himself. Right now, I doubt if he has any staff loyalty at all except for the president.

Rahm Emanuel. Scaramucci is saying the sort of things that Rahm can only hint at in his present role as Mayor of Chicago. They are essentially the same kind of driving, cunning and ruthless person. Useful as a friend, formidable as an adversary.

either it is a candid photo illustrating a real split, or it is high stakes kabuki intended to distract some of the masses from more critical stuff going on somewhere else, such as real policymaking affecting real issues.

to me, the photo has a look of being deliberately staged.

hopefully something important and ultimately beneficial is going on, and in their down time, these guys are having a big guffaw over beers.

Yeah, after reading that interview, it's pretty clear he seems to be the source of these problems.

I appreciate somebody who is a bit combative with the media, but when that carries over to your co-workers, there's a problem. You're no longer a team or a staff, you're a collection of individuals trying not to get stabbed in the back, while trying to stab others in the back.

And these silly little spats are what leads to leaks, as the staff members leak to the media in order to hurt each other.

There are clearly two camps in the White House, and he just took a flamethrower to the leader of each.

Between this and the skinny repeal fiasco, I think every Republican in office needs to pull a Tillerson and take two weeks off.

Let’s all come back in mid-August and see where things stand. Just shut it all down for a while. Everyone is making horrible decisions.

That could very well be the case. He seems like the type that Trump would like working for him. He will end up being Trump's chief of staff, although I'm surprised he would go after Bannon like that. Didn't realize Bannon was in Trump's doghouse.
