The Senate on Tuesday voted to begin debate on ObamaCare repeal legislation, a major step toward the goal of ending the healthcare law.

The motion was approved in a razor-thin 50-50 vote, with Vice President Pence breaking the tie.

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) received thunderous applause as he entered the chamber for the first time since being diagnosed with brain cancer to cast the 49th vote. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) then cast the 50th vote for the bill.

Repeal will not happen.

There is only one party.

Until CW-II.

Somebody needs to inform them that this isn’t about taking away health care from people - Obamacare is all but bankrupt and that will do exactly that if left to its own devices.

"Collins and Murkowski voted no. "

Why would Democrats vote to repeal their legislation?

(This vote proves Collins and Murkowski are not republicans)

They aren't even RINO’s. They want to be called RiNO's just to get elected. They ARE closet democrats.

Actually, they can make a motion to end debate. I wonder if the Senate Leadership can go nuclear on this? I mean, I think that is what the Democrats did to get it passed. Wonder if that is even possible? I know they were checking with the parliamentarian about this last week or week before, and since they are going ahead with it, you’d think they have already made their decision.

What a bunch of posturing bums. They never care about the American Citizen. This is Kabuki theater writ large. They will manage to screw all of us but keep themselves and their worthless staff exempt. What a pathetic joke.

“Too chicken to even want to hold a debate.”

That’s because now they know they will have to vote against repeal. And the consensus of the rest of the Republicans (piss be upon their name) in Congress.

They hung themselves out to dry.

Yes, and generally grandstanding as well as posturing.

Much more important than doing what is right for America.

I’ll just bet Collins and Murkowski weren’t offered any special deals and pork to haul off to their states-their votes were for sale, but no one was buying this time-too bad. Maybe they will get primaried in favor of someone who will take advantage of good things like the neutering of the EPA-it certainly will bring more oil industry jobs to AK-don’t know about Maine, though-Collins just seems programmed to vote “no” on anything that doesn’t make her state more dependent on fedzilla...
