The Senate is expected to vote Tuesday on whether to take up health care reform, which will require 51 votes to open debate.
It's unclear what any final product will look like if that first procedural vote is successful. The first vote is intended to open debate on the American Health Care Act (AHCA), the GOP-sponsored Obamacare replacement plan that passed the House of Representatives in May.
Republicans need 51 votes to proceed to the legislation, which would then be subjected to what is expected to be a lengthy amendment process. Democrats are united in their opposition to the legislation, and if Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, is still from brain surgery and likely unable to vote, that means the GOP senators can only lose one vote otherwise the legislation collapses.
Rand Paul says he'll vote in favor of the "motion to proceed" because of assurances from McConnell Paul tweeted that McConnell informed him Tuesday morning that that the plan is to write on a repeal and delay plan that resembles a Senate-passed bill from 2015. He said if that's the plan, he would vote in favor of the motion to proceed to begin debate.

Oh... ARRRGGGHHH!
Is anyone still listening to Fox News? It might as well be CNN! Trump is disloyal! Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing! Trump’s own party is abandoning him left and right! It’s ALL OVER!
The nicest thing one asshole said is that this “might even be considered a good day for The President.”
I hate this propaganda crap.
entropy12’s great suggestions and feelings:
“A cost effective universal healthcare should have these features:
1. 100% private health insurance, not run by government.
2. Ability to buy insurance out of state.
3. No mandate to buy government defined insurance coverage
if you are male no need for mammogram or pap smear coverage.
4. Catastrophic only health insurance available,
especially for younger folks, which is much cheaper.
5. Limits on mal-practice awards based on actual damage.
6. Availability of prescription drug insurance through a group policy.
7. Portability of health insurance when changing jobs.
8. Tax deductible Health savings accounts contributed by employer.
So you are in charge, not the insurance company or government.
Note that Obamacare expressly forbids majority of above items.”
“Without a universal healthcare, sick people wait too long to get tested and be treated early, and then the disease gets more advanced, costing much more to treat on an emergency basis.”
“I went through an emergency cholecystectomy surgery after suffering unimaginable pain episode. I will not tolerate any American citizen to be denied the same access I had to the nearest hospital, simply because he/she can not afford good health insurance like I had. Some form of free market, capitalist structured universal healthcare is a necessity for every American citizen. I am AGAINST any single payer healthcare. Just look at the fraud and cost of Medicare, which is a single payer system for people over age 65.”
However, my opinion is that there are pockets of Medicare fraud (financially aggressive specialty care firms + some doctors), but most doctors and all hospitals that I’m aware of are not abusing Medicare.
President Trump would sign single-payer at this point, I think. He will sign ANYTHING that allows him to say “Obamacare is repealed” and “Everyone is covered.”
Collins and Murkowski have voted No
Anyone correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Collins cast a deciding vote to allow debate on O Care when the Dems were pushing it....
Balderdash. The President just a couple of days ago said that Single Payer would bankrupt the country.
What's the point of such gratuitous grousing?

I don’t know what my little comment has to do with your emotional response, but I haven’t had any news on since early this AM.
I believe based on my own personal experience that the mess became exponentially worse under Obamacare. That's when my health care and health insurance rates skyrocketed.
In the last two years alone, my prescription costs for example have more than tripled.
In one case, one medication I need that used to cost less than $5/mo. now costs well over $40. Why is that?
My "prescription" coverage isn't prescription coverage at all anymore. When I can go off-insurance and get several medications cheaper by using goodrx.com and my local Meijer pharmacy than I can by going through my insurance and CVS Pharmacy (which my insurance requires I use) what does that say?
And Trump's response to the Senate vote was to congratulate American people, "because we're going give you great health care." So he's back to wanting Trumpcare again.
You’re full of crap.

Senate advances health care bill as McCain makes dramatic return, Pence breaks tie

GOD BLESS McCain, HE FINALLY DID COME THROUGH FOR US.
Version 4.8 of My Health Care Payment Coverage Draft Proposal is available on my home page:
out-of-state sales enabling and penalty waiver language added
subsidies now based on state historical 2013/2014/2015 subsidy silver plan amounts to kowtow to Senator Murkowski, increasing cost
tax rate subsidies replace square law subsidies to partially compensate

You mean back in 2009?
The democrats held 60 senate seats and
did not need any republican votes to pass legislation.
For you. from a few days ago. Read and heed.

If it was actually about insurance reform, the USA might be better off.
However, the GOP plans have failed in the past because they focused on money alone.
If there was less money than under existing law, Democrats and RINOs brayed their complaints.
If there was more money than under existing law, everyone except the senator who last stuck his/her trotter in the federal money pot complained.
The coverage reform list that entropy12 compiled needs to be the basis for reform.
“...McCain, trying to be a hero....”

McCain has NEVER been a hero and he will NEVER be a hero. He will pass away having done no accomplishments that have advanced America, IMHO.
“Republicans vote to move ahead on Obamacare repeal”
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/07/25/obamacare-repeal-vote-senate-republicans-240926
51 votes includes VP Pence.
Full repeal root and branch, or this is the end of the GOP as we know it.
Oh I know. I don’t think it’s his ultimate goal. But I also don’t think he has any core principles at play here.
He wants “great plans” that “cover everyone.” And he has praised Canada, Scotland, and Australia for their systems.
It’s not going to happen, but if in Neverneverland, the Dems took back the Senate, I think President Trump would look very closely at whatever single payer bill was passed. Particularly if this current clusterwhatever ends as a, well, clusterwhatever.
Anything “trending” on facebook, twitter, etc... is usuallt BS being pushed by libs
