President Trumps decision Tuesday to attack Attorney General Jeff Sessions over Sessions position on Hillary Clintons various scandals only serves to highlight Trumps own hypocrisy on the issue and is likely to fuel concerns from his base who see Sessions at the best hope to fulfill Trumps immigration policies.
Trumps attack is the latest in a series of shots Trump has launched at Sessions in recent days, annoyed still over Sessions decision to recuse himself from Russia investigations in March. But Trump himself was the one who flip-flopped on whether to prosecute Clinton.

All “Beltwayians” need attacked.
Is it true that Sessions can un-recuse himself? Have heard this from some media commentators.
[Trump has not cleaned house of the Obama loyalists. He is instead attacking Republicans.]
It’s not the CEO’s job to fire the company’s line-level employees. It is the Department heads’ (in this case, Cabinet Secretaries).
As AG, it is Sessions’ responsibility to remove the Obama holdovers.
Instead, Sessions recuses and allows Rosenstein to hire Mueller to go after Trump...
Some Republicans ARE Obama loyalists. Sessions hasn't made ANY moves against Hillary and her co-conspirators, including Comey. HE NEEDS TO GO. NOW.
It's painfully obvious Sessions has been co-opted by the Deep State. Probably subtle hints made to Sessions as to what will happen to him if he dare threaten any Deep State team member, so Trump NEEDS TO REPLACE HIM WITH SOMEONE COURAGEOUS AND WILLING TO APPLY THE RULE OF LAW REGARDLESS OF SUCH THREATS.
Attacking your own appointees publicly looks like weakness AND failure.
Obama is no longer POTUS.
“Is it true that Sessions can un-recuse himself?”
Yes. He can also commit seppuku but he won’t. He has no honor.
I’m sure he was the ‘legal expert’ urging Trump to go to the courts after they usurped his executive authority on the ‘travel ban’...staggering.
Firing him is one thing; that's Trump's prerogative. But he really needs to stop the public attacks on Sessions. No good is going to come of that.
[Im not going to make the mistake of second-guessing Trumps political instincts. If he thinks that publicly slamming someone is a good idea, then I say he should run with it.]
People who are hyperventilating over Trump’s words and actions are forgetting one important detail...
KELLYANNE CONWAY!!!
She is not only one of his closest advisors, she also runs a POLLING organization.
I have ZERO doubt that these recent events and decisions have been poll-tested with the public and are proving to have favorable results.
The only one’s expressing any disagreement are the RINO’s in Congress, and the media.
He wants the rat bastard to step down.
He knows the left, corrupt state, rinos, media will go ballistic level ‘impeachment & constitutional crisis’ talk if he fires him.
Sessions is REFUSING TO STEP DOWN. Let that sink in.
Are you people medicated?
Next, Sessions is loyal to a fault to Donald Trump, without breaking the law!
Lastly, when the Department of Justice is investigating situations and people (like the Clintons), those investigations must be kept private, though never were under Obama!
Sessions must NOT speak in public about who or what is being investigated no matter how many FR folks want him to!
Would have been nice if Sessions hadn't done the recusal thing - that was dreadful - but it's water over the dam... time to move on. Bigger fish to fry - bigger problems to deal with.
Not true.
If anyone cares.there is a hot mic Incident between sen. collins and reed..includes talk of deals..duals...trump....and other things. Interesting behind the scenes talk. You can find on twitter
570 positions need Senate confirmation. Trump has nominated 145. Only 50 have been nominated. The Obama holdovers vastly outnumber the Republicans.
“To be a Trump Supporter, you can not be faint of heart at any time!”...
And I agree with you...
It’s Rosenstein who deserves the brunt of Trump’s ire.
Yes, Sessions for self-recussing....
There is no law that says Sessions had to recuse himself. The DOJ has ethics rules that are interpreted case by case — but no law. In this case, the ethics and legal advisors recommended Sessions recuse himself and he took their advise. What pisses me off is these same ethics rules apply to Rosenstein and Mueller (who is now essentially working for the DOJ), yet for some reason those rules don’t apply to them despite the obvious conflict of interest and bias shown by Mueller and those whom he has hired. If Rosenstein had any ethics, he would remove Mueller based on those same rules Sessions used to recuse himself, but that won’t happen since he is a Democrat.
Yes, Sessions for doing NOTHING.
The whole reason Trump was nominated and elected was because of Republican INACTION.
So sick of these useless bums.
The press and rino’s would go nuts if Trump gave Sessions a direct order
This way is best
Hope is not a plan.
