Even I cringe at what they are doing to Sessions. I am not sure that public humiliation is always the right course.

Agreed. Trump refused to accept Sessions resignation. If he is unhappy with Sessions he could fire him but for some reason refuses to do so. It seems he prefers to complain and tweet about it than do something about it.

I was never a fan of Cruz for President as I believe he had the same Dual Citizenship vrs Natural Born issue as Obama. I am also thankful because I do not believe he would have ignited a base to beat Hellary as did Trump.

But so far I have not seen him be a Elitist. I could be wrong. But I am in favor as him as AG provided he uses the same standards as Lynch for recusal.

Like all officials, the AG swears to preserve, protect the Constitution and to faithfully execute the duties.

How is it that for how many years now we have sunk to the level of picking and choosing which politician to protect rather than to protect the Constitution?

I have. Good stuff sandwiched in between reviving the war on pot in 2017, asset seizures, and going after the dark web. Nothing I voted for.

Sessions offered to resign. Trump wouldn't accept it.

This is Trump/Sessions/Scar game playing. They're looking for leakers.

It's the ole mouse trap scenario.

The other big "red flag" we should all have seen was that Trump gave his initial interview to the New York Times, of all places.

That newspaper has made it their mission to undermine Donald Trump ever since he was a candidate for the GOP nomination, and Trump himself has returned the favor by calling them the "Failing New York Times" and a "fake news" outlet continuously ... even in the last couple of days -- after the interview was made public last week!

Does anyone really think Donald Trump would be honest and open about his intentions in an interview with the New York Times? LOL.

If Trump fires Session, there will be significant reverberations. It’ll be a revolt that will make the past six months seem like a honeymoon. It would be a major mistake. Pray he doesn’t do it.

No. 1 - He got Trump's Immigration order approved by the USSC.

You don't think the asset thing is big?? It's aimed at the cartels.

You don't think the 17 indictments of the NY gang are important?

You don't think Sanctuary cities are important.

Apparently, Immigration wasn't on your voting agenda.

Apparently Trump wants Sessions to go after the many crimes of Hillary Clinton and Sessions is scared to do it. This is the latest from Trump on tweeter. The problem there is within one day of being elected he said the Clintons were “good people” and he was not going to go after her. Can you imagine how good of a president he could be if he could just think before the speaks. Politics is war. He’s finding out the hard way. Pissing off his own party is not the way to do it. Especially when 75% of the party despises you to start with. Nothing more would make the GOP happier than to have President Mike Pence and something tells me that’s a real possibility.

Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch said Sessions can un-recuse himself if he felt like it. By the way Guiliani should have been AG from day one. End of story. Sessions is too much of nice guy for the job. I thought it was a terrible pick from the start.

‘Who would want the job if he is this way with Sessions?’

An aggressive prosecutor more in line with Trump’s priorities. Trump didn’t campaign on cracking down on marijuana or increasing civil asset forfitures. Trump wants an AG that will take on the worst of the swamp creatures. That type of AG and Trump would get along swimmingly.

I like Sessions. Why not fire the deputy attorney general and hire a non-never trumper deputy AG?

Things have changed. When Trump won, he wanted to be gracious for the sake of the country. Rather than immediately subjecting everyone to a divisive prosecution of his rival, he wanted to focus on MAGA. He thought Hillary would recognize her legal jeopardy sufficiently to accept this arrangement.

Instead, Hillary is trying to lead the Resistance. She’s behaving like the would-be head of a shadow government.

Iow, she spurned Trump’s generous offer. Now Trump wants her to pay the piper.

Trump knows that the Mueller investigation is an existential threat. Not because of collusion with criminal conduct but because Mueller is unaccountable. Left in place, Mueller will dig and dig and dig and eventually make accusations that will at a minimum prevent Trump’s reelection. Trump needs an AG who will fire Muller. It is that simple.

Here is my message to all bed wetters: support the President. Sessions is a good man but he does not have what it takes. Time for him to take the hint and hit the road.

Jeff Sessions is a fine man, a real Senate gentleman. But we don’t need a fine, ethics-trumps-all southern gentleman as head of the DOJ.

The Obamanites have been trampling upon the rule of law an the US Constitution for eight long years.

We need an ambitious, ruthless, hard-ass, nut-cutting SOB.
Sessions can go be a gentleman somewhere else.
