Trump Floats Possibility Of Giuliani Replacing Sessions As AG

President Trump has floated the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions with his steadfast ally Rudy Giuliani to serve in the top Justice Department post, Axios reported Monday.

Trump broached the idea in internal discussions about bringing in and surrounding himself with staunch supporters, sources within the West Wing told the news outlet.

Before The New York Times interview last week, Trump had already expressed anger and frustration at Sessions for recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Axios reports.

Trump, during the interview, opined that Sessions' decision to recuse himself was "unfair" to him and he would've likely picked another person to lead the Justice Department if he had known this is the move Sessions would make.

In a tweet on Monday, Trump went after Sessions, calling him “beleaguered” and questioned why the attorney general and federal investigators are not looking into Hillary Clinton for her “crimes” and ties to Russia.

There could be. I can’t discount it. I do know at one point trump said something to the effect that wasnt going after her because she suffered enough

Obama could have secretly pardoned her

Fire Sessions make Ted Cruz the AG.

Does anyone believe Cruz is a Trump supporter?

From my standpoint, I don’t want a Trump mind numbed robot, I want an AG that will stand up for the Constitution.

He should have done this to begin with: even if Rudy is getting older, he can pick able deputies. Not using him—if he will serve—is a shame.
Transfer Jeff Sessions to DHS/ICE or suggest he return to the Senate where he was effective.
*And an ICE appt. (and apology) to this guy: http://www.kssos.org/

Why waste your time....let it ride....she'll never go to jail....or even get disciplined...

Maybe next year....when we've gotten rid of the leakers.

Sessions noted the rule which he used to recuse himself.

Read the last 20 trump tweets, including todays wherein he demands to know why clinton has not been investigated. His campaign statement that he had no desire to prosecute her has long been superceded by his tweets wanting to know why no action has been taken on the many obama clinto scandals.

Yeah, I know. That said, I supported his decision at the time. I know what his rationale was. Hillary had conceded. She actually gave a very nice concession speech. Trump wanted to unite the country and move forward. He thought that if he let the Clintons go, that would be a sign to the Democrats that he wanted to do so. Trump thought they were going to let him govern like any other President. They weren’t and still aren’t. We are now in month 8 of this Russia narrative, and it shows no signs of stopping - only of getting worse. Trump can’t get out of the Russia probe, but he might as well say that if they are going to go after him, Hillary’s ties to Russia should be investigated at the very least. Perhaps that had something to do with this hacking (which I still question was Russia).

90% salary reduction for Rudi, but he would garner a lot of public support.

Sorry, but you don't understand the Rule of Law and the authority of the President vis a vis the AG. Sessions is not Holder who was found in contempt of Congress and Lynch who violated her oath as AG by meeting with Bill Clinton or the tarmac days before his wife was interviewed by the FBI,

The lawlessness must stop. Jeff Sessions is a man of great integrity and principle. He will enforce the law and will not be a political toady of the President or anyone else. If Trump is unhappy with him, let him fire him and Rosenstein and Mueller.

“Rudy would be a great choice. Who cares if the Dems fight him. It does look to be too late. wasted 7 months of Sessions doing nothing.”

I think Sessions was waiting for the new FBI director to be seated. Why hand off a Hillary investigation to Hillary donors?

If in fact an investigation was ongoing you would have heard about it because the democrt targets would have been whining to their allies in the press. Silence means no investigation of the Clinton obama scandals. Plus, why would Trump tweet TODAY that he cant understand why clinton is not under investigation. Do you really think DOJ would have kept that a secret from him?

Your defense is merely wishful hoping that sessions is doing his job when all the availble evidence says no.

Absolutely mindless how the cultists think here nowadays.

They were cheering Sessions’ appointment as a huge victory for Trump and as soon as things get tough, Trump floats the idea of bailing and his replacement? A NY RINO who best days were carved out in the 90s when NY needed him most but was a huge flop on the national stages for life and amnesty issues.........the latter the main point Trump was voted in!

Trump says Sessions! YES! Trump says out with Session! OUT! Trump say Giuliani! YYE! Trump says green is blue! It's BLUE!

Sessions is a rock ribbed conservative. Three years ago on this site everyone would have stood up for him. Now they are willing to toss him aside.

Sad.

Rudy would be the choice to handle the devious Mueller.

I must disagree with you on the proper role of the chief law enforcement officer of the country. As for me not understanding the Rule of Law I can only assert that practicing law for 35 years as a prosecutor gives me experience in this area. How about you?
