The parents of terminally-ill baby Charlie Gard have ended their legal challenge to take him to the US for experimental treatment. A lawyer representing Chris Gard and Connie Yates told the High Court that "time had run out" for the baby. Grant Armstrong said Charlie's parents had made the decision because an American doctor said it was too late to give him nucleoside therapy. "The parents worst nightmare have been confirmed", Mr Armstrong said.
He told the presiding judge Mr Justice Francis that US neurologist Dr Michio Hirano had said he was no longer willing to offer the baby experimental therapy after he saw the results of a new MRI scan last week. He added Mr Gard and Ms Yates would now look to establish a foundation so that Charlie's voice "continues to be heard". They had raised £1.3m in donations to take their 11-month-old abroad for treatment.

They were paying for it not taxpayers. UK hospital and courts waste 6 months that might have helped!
Humanities compassion has sunk to the level of a “Birds Nest”
where the stronger chicks push the weaker ones out of the nest to eliminate competition for resources.
The British taxpayers had to foot the bill to keep Charlie alive in the hospital during all of the legal battles.
Had the court suddenly had a moment of either logic or compassion over the last 8 months, they would have ruled for the parents which would have: (1) given Charlie a chance; (2) given the parents what they wanted; (3) taken the hospital off the hook; and (4) given the Brit taxpayers a break.
I weep for the parents and little Charlie. Death panels 1: Human Life 0. This is our future under obamacare.
If the baby had been named mohammud he would now be in intensive care in Berkely, with free care and free housing for the entire family.
I’m not apologizing for my cynicism. There is a reason for it.
That is why it very important to do a clean repeal.
“There’s a hole in the world like a big black pit...”
It is decades past time to withdraw from NATO. We have no business supporting, far less defending that culture. They contaminate us.
This was a public lesson. An example. Such as we have had at Ruby Ridge, Waco, and Malheur Wildlife Refuge. This is a demonstration of State authority.
