South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is urging South Carolinians to vote against him when they disagree with his support for a national amnesty plus a greater inflow of foreign workers to take Americans jobs. To the people who object to this, I dont want you to vote for me because I cannot serve you well, he said in a Capitol Hill press conference July 20. He continued:
Ive stopped letting 30 percent of the people who are mad about immigration determine how I behave. To those who feel like you should deport [younger illegals], boy, I couldnt disagree with you more
To President [Donald] Trump, youre going to have to make a decision. The campaign is over. To the Republican Party: Who are we? What do we believe? . . . When they write the history of these times, Im going to be with these kids.

I have been called a BIGOT, I have been called a RACIST.
I don’t give one cold GODDAMN what an IDIOT calls me.
WHEN I KNOW I AM RIGHT.
Lee Bright was a fine candidate.
Nikki Haley is another Cheap Labor Express Republican.
Yeah. Not supporting Graham, but the thought of booting someone out who was brought here as a child with no say in the matter and is in every other way American...just does not make sense.
My son lives in SC.I told him if I ever found out he voted for that asshole I would disown him!
Fair statement about Graham and many GOP office holders in South Carolina. The state's economy is based on foreign investment and cheap labor. Graham knows where is bread is buttered. Throw in open primaries and the remnants of southern fascination with Tennessee Williamsesque characters, I fear Graham will leave office on his own terms.
We can only hope Linda!
I'm from SC and can explain it.
In SC we have open primaries. This means you don't have to vote for your party's candidate in the primary. If you are registered as a Democrat, you can cross party lines and vote for a Republican.
That's exactly what the RATS in SC do. They know the chance of a RAT being elected are slim and none. They also know linda is a closet RAT. In the primary, they cross over party lines and vote for linda.
Since SC is such a red state, chances are linda would win the primary without the RAT votes. But those votes virtually insure linda will win the primary.
When we get to the general election, SC being one of the reddest states, the Republican wins. Meaning linda wins.
Unfortunately this voting rule won't be changed without action from the state legislature. Little chance of that happening. Until we can get rid of the open primaries, the chances of linda being voted out are slim and none. And he knows it.
First read my reply at 68.
Now, it's the general election and the candidates are linda and some RAT you've probably never heard of. What would you suggest you son do in this all too common situation? Not voting in this race or voting for some third party candidate or writing in a vote is the same as voting the RAT.
Not an SC resident, but whomever runs against Lind-seed in the primary will get a donation from me. And maybe his opponent in the general if he makes it that far.
What a grandstanding drama queen.
Ok, folks - you heard the man. Boot to ass, ass hitting door.
Time to get a conservative nominated as a Democrat then.
At least if they have a primary of their own, they won’t be meddling.
I voted for the no-name Democrat in 2012 against Cantor because the first primary had failed to Cantorize him.
Better than enabling our destruction as a nation, which is what Uniparty candidates bring.
We got a great one in Dave Brat in 2014 in place of the weasel Eric Cantor. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
Open primaries are a totally perverted process IMO.
A bunch of states have that and I don’t know why.
“One other thought. Lawyers should be banned from running and holding public office.”
I agree with you 100%. The legal profession has been completely corrupted and politicized. Attorneys no longer seek “justice”. They are advocates for advantages, avoidance of accountability, arbitrary redistribution of property, lining their own pockets, and government imposed restrictions on liberty.
Lawyers are dangerous scoundrels. The last people we want in government. Unfortunately we keep electing them.
You heard Linda! Do it!
Then the day after he takes office, roll (eliminate) Dept. of Energy into Homeland Security.
No one in Trumpland is thinking out of the box here. Could have McCrisis and Linda doing something else by mid-terms.
Well, you accommodate them by sending back their entire extended family, so they won't be lonely.
“Bold words for a guy WHO ISNT UP FOR RE-ELECTION.”
So true. I’d lay odds now when he is up for election again, he won’t campaign using those statements.
In the letters of the American Farmer-and I wont attempt to site the name, its a Frenchman. He said that if Lawyers are ever let into the halls of government, they would become like weeds in a garden. Choking out every good plant.
