Sen. John McCain's office announced Wednesday he has a cancerous brain tumor.
McCain's office is optimistic of his return to his duties, saying "Further consultations with Senator McCain's Mayo Clinic care team will indicate when he will return to the United States Senate."
The tumor, a glioblastoma, is a highly malignant, aggressive, cancerous tumor, according to the American Brain Tumor Association. McCain is 80 years old. He is getting treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation, at the Mayo Clinic.
The Seventeenth Amendment established the rules of appointing vacancies in the Senate. In Arizona, if a senator dies, resigns or is expelled, Gov. Doug Ducey would appoint a replacement of the same political party.
The governor could choose to appoint himself. The person appointed would serve until the next statewide election.

All these really old DC swamp rats like McCain and Feinstein go to Walter Reed every weeks or so to get an injection of a super Dr Feelgood cocktail that keeps them going like demons. Hillary gets the same. They are all getting juiced courtesy of the taxpayer who they then screw with open borders.
The above is not proven but what I think is going on. This is why these moldy old Old Senate effers never resign due to ill health or miss an election. They just keep on going like they sold their soul to the devil.

In my experience among friends and acquaintances who were diagnosed with glioblastoma the life expectancy is in the 4 month range. In two months, all I’ve known were bed ridden with a morphine pump in hand. At some point after that, hospice will remove the regulation on the morphine and the patient can punch out anytime after that.
Survival rates are less than 4%.
John McCain faces a very grim reality. My advice to the Senator would be go home and spend his few remaining good days with his family.
Exactly. Also, whatever work they do is actually done by their increasingly bloated staffs. His chief of staff has probably called the shots in that office for some time now. Only thing the COS can't do is vote for McCain.
Even the “extraordinary” people, under Obamacare or not, stand little chance of getting the kind of heroic care to extend life for perhaps a few weeks or months, once they have passed the Biblical “three score and ten” in years.
Follow the prognosis of anyone over the age of 75 who has fallen and broken a hip. Remaining lifetime is short and bedridden.

On the other hand, I could see a spiteful McCain hoard his useless vote just to spite the Trump agenda.

That was certainly the way it went with a good friend of mine. There is no way out of this and his time is almost certainly very short.
