U.S. Sen. John McCain revealed Wednesday evening that he has a brain tumor.

The announcement follows a procedure to remove a blood clot from above his left eye at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix last Friday, where a pathology report revealed the glioblastoma, a malignant brain tumor.

Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.

Thank you. Felt the same about my dad. No serious physical pain. Just a fading away, day by day, until he was gone. Took 4 months.

He should resign so that he can focus on his final days and be with his family.

A friend of mine has it and her doctor has told her she’ll likely go into a coma well before she dies. Was he downplaying something...?

Not to be off subject, but my sweet son in law of 30 years old was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor 3 years ago! Just saying it happens to all of of us.Ryan life just started but still working everyday and going strong!
Cancers affects all our lives in one way or another but hurts when it's one of your own! God love My Ryan! Still fighting on and providing a very good living for my Daughter and their two young children without any government help! they pay their own way because they work hard at keeping their home! We've all dealt with this, and without any handouts or national attention! We all are equal in cancer but not when it comes to paying this when you are face with terminal inoperable cancer of the brain!

Maybe her doctor was simply being truthful and trying to console her. May God bless your friend.

The irony is that this is the exact same brain cancer that Ted Kennedy had.

The irony is that the anagram of GLIOBLAST is GLOBALIST.

" rare with less than 200,000 cases diagnosed each year"

??????? Something is radically wrong with that number. Someone misplaced a decimal. 200,000 cases per year would make it almost as prevalent as breast cancer and not so "rare" at all.

This source says around 12,000 new cases per year:

Glioblastoma represent 14.9% of all primary brain tumors, and 55.4% of all gliomas. Glioblastoma has the highest number of cases of all malignant tumors, with an estimated 12,390 new cases predicted in 2017.

Maybe you should mind YOUR own business and let these people grieve in their own way.

If he had obamacare he would be told he is too old and useless and be given a choice of red pill to kill himself.

>>My beloved wonderful niece died of a glioblast at 50. Then my cousins husband at 42. Lost a dear friend to the same at 56. I feel your pain, but I will say, none of mine seemingly suffered. In fact, there was peace with each of them. Hope the same for your dad.

My wife’s cousin was diagnosed with this after a few days of bizarre behavior. She died within the month, I think before beginning the bulk of her treatment. The cure for this is often what kills.

What’s weird is the low numbers reported for this. I think I know of several people specifically who’ve had this and statistically, I should only know 1-2.

Very sorry to hear about your uncle. I pray for blessings on McCain and his family.

I think there should be a mandatory retirement age. McCain has been unwell for some time.

I wish him nothing but a speedy recovery or failing that a peaceful end. I know many of you loathe him fiercely and yeah he’s not my favorite guy either but I reserve my full enmity for the demosh*ts.

He really should resign now, we need that seat filled. He should spend his remaining time with his family.

Psalm 109: 8

Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

A scriptural prayer.

The Majority of Freepers work at things called jobs and only read when they have time.

So this is what happens.

AZ procedure for replacing him is that the governor appoints a replacement, but he has to be from the departing Senator’s party.

Not a problem, as the Governor is a Republican there. Maybe he can appoint a real Republican to fill the term.

Glioblastoma prognosis is generally not very positive.
This particular form of cancer is usually very aggressive and fast moving.... Brainstem gliomas are about the only cancer with a worse prognosis than glioblastoma.

The prognosis for this type of cancer is usually months not years.. my best friends husband had this and dies within about 6 months. As was explained to us Dr’s prefer brain cancer’s are solid enough, like jelly beans, in order to remove.....unlike with this type which is more like mashed potatoes.....the tentacles go into the brain so they can’t get it all.

This doesn’t look good.
