Here’s a suggestion: No more student loans for people whose majors are Women’s Studies, Black Studies, Hispanic Studies, Gay Studies, etc.
In fact, no more student loans except for STEM majors.
Have student loan policies follow standard, prudent loan practices.
Any major which has too many defaults becomes ineligible for more loans. Any college which has too many defaults, becomes ineligible.
I would go as far as having colleges cosign the loans. Any defaults get clawed out of the endowment and faculty pension fund. Suddenly colleges would stop admitting unqualified students.

Amen, with this caveat. There is a variant of STEM major who has a BA, not a BS. Their job is to explain the work of the BS degrees to the rest on America. They are craptards.
They are PR flakes who lack the intellectual rigor of the BS or MS degree holders.
