Trump to Congress: Don't leave for recess until health care bill passed
Fox News ^ | July 19, 2017 | Alex Pappas

President Trump on Wednesday told Republican senators he doesn’t want Congress to leave Washington for the August recess until lawmakers pass a health care bill.

“Frankly, I don’t think we should leave town unless we have a health insurance plan, unless we can give our people great health care,” Trump said during a lunch with senators at the White House. “Because we’re close. We’re very close.”

All Republican senators were invited to lunch with the president on Wednesday in the State Dining Room to discuss the stalled efforts to push through health care legislation in Congress.

The Senate Republicans' latest bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare collapsed Monday as more Republican senators announced their opposition to the specifics in the replacement. All Democrats were expected to oppose the bill.

In response, Trump initially called on Congress to just repeal the law now and figure out a replacement later, something Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is proceeding with.

But speaking to senators at the lunch, the president suggested he’d still like to see Congress repeal and replace the law simultaneously.

“We can repeal,” Trump said. “But we should repeal and replace. And we shouldn’t leave town until this is complete. Until this bill is on my desk. And until we all go over to the Oval Office. I’ll sign it and we can celebrate for the American people.”

Vacations.

They got their healthcare.

Plus they deserve their recess. Don’t people realize how hard and exhausting it is to sit around and do nothing all day long while inexplicably becoming a multimillionaire on a government salary?

I was in agreement that they should let obamacare crash. Force the democrats to come up with a viable option. Make them get off their do nothing asses.

Let them go on recess.

Let them do whatever they want.

Let them all get down on their knees in front of the Chamber of Commerce.

The following morning, have Sanders walk into to give the press briefing and issue a short statement.....

“The AHCA waiver, that was granted to members of Congress and their staffs, by the previous administration has been rescinded and takes effect, immediately. Members of Congress and their staffs will no longer have their healthcare subsidized by the US Taxpayers, while at the same time the taxpayers are bearing the brunt of the AHCAs failures and inefficiencies. The rescinding of the waiver, only effects Congress and staff, not the federal workforce, as a whole. However, the federal workforce will have their health insurance plans be re-evaluated, so that they are more consistent with what is being offered to the US taxpayers. As has been said before, if it’s good enough for the people then it oughta be good enough for the folks that wrote it and passed it. This concludes the press briefing. Any questions can be emailed to the WH Press Corps. Thank you and have a great day.”

The AHCA would be overturned within 24hrs, as that would be the amount of time it would take all those corrupt bastards to get back to DC.

“I need a No Recess For You meme....”

One simply does not go on recess without repealing Obamacare.

He’s a fast learner. For better or worse he’s beginning to remind me of FDR, absolute master of making Congress and the opposition look bad. We’re a long way from “Fireside Chats”, but for some reason Trump’s direct appeal to the people rings that same bell.

I say leave Obamacare in place and add a private plan option to the bill. The measurement will be how many people voluntarily leave Obamacare for the private plan. When it hits a specific number, move those that cannot afford the private plan over to medicaid and kill Obamacare.

It’s a win for everyone except the Democrats as they watch their forced Obamacare numbers plummet.

That’s how you win wars.

All your recess belong to Trump.
You have no chance to survive.

If they are not on recess, they are not able to fundraise as effectively. This gives a small advantage to primary challengers.
