It is a GOPe problem. They will not put a full repeal vote out. They don’t want a repeal, as their constituents...the healthcare industry that finances them, don’t want a repeal. The Gimmedats are just a side issue.

Rob Portman doing his best Bush imitation. He voted for repeal in 2015 but now he weasels out of it. Sorta like “no new taxes”.

Oh well, he IS a Bush acolyte.

Funny how AARP has been running an ad in WMAL land - Washington/Northern VA/Maryland aimed at Caputo and urging WVites to contact her to vote against.

It may lead one to believe that all the WORKING people in WV are in the WASHINGTON DC area????

I am talking Morning Drive time here, not some late night rerun show, the ‘big bucks’ time slots.

“The Senate Republicans just killed any chance of reelection. This party is done.”

If that’s true, The Trump Presidency is done as well, so you’d better hope that somehow the GOP does get something positive done. These “women Senators” ( and that would be virtually all of them because you have to add in Merky from AK as well) are single-handedly destroying the Republican Party

>>>What the hell? You think “government money” ...which was collected from ME first actually belongs to someone else?<<<

I was just chatting with a senior citizen on this. He was condescending towards me. Explaining that the healthy people have to pay in so those with expensive needs can be covered. He could not, or would not see that somebody may disagree with him. And hold the view that forcing one person to subsidize the health care of another was immoral and amounted to theft. He could not also see that practically speaking, it was a huge burden to families that can’t afford insurance but are working, hence they don’t get it for free like he does.

The something for nothing argument is strong with our fellow countrymen.

Any Republican Congressman or Senator who voted to repeal ShitCare the previous 7 years and now threaten to vote against the repeal should have their previous votes thrown into the face and then be asked to provide an explanation.

“I was for it before I voted against it...”

Effing cowards.

This is exposing republicans who were “pretend fighters”

THEY don’t want to repeal this. They WANT this tax on the sheep class. DC has ZERO respect for citizens.

DC lives by “some animals are more equal than others”

There isn’t 50 votes for a straight repeal. The dummies from Maine will vote against it. And now we have that dummy from West VA. I’m sure there are 1-3 more squishies out there. Best case is 48 votes for a repeal. The electorate and the lawmakers both suffer from basing their decisions on feelings. BFD. I don’t want to see bad things happen to anybody either.

But you can’t do something in a vacuum. If you help out those who couldn’t afford or qualify for insurance and feel good about it you are immoral, ignorant or a wicked person. These lawmakers/voters are awfully selective in their feels. They don’t have compassion for families having to pay thousands of dollars a year more in healthcare costs. Screw their feelings.

These disgusting bastards are as useless a group as can be found anywhere in this country.

The GOP (Gutless Other Party) is a party that needs to Go away. If there was ever a time to create an American Party that has America first as it’s base it is right now. The self proclaimed aristocrats that are the GOPe should be sent home to find a real job.

How is it that Maine can elect a political incorrect governor and a rino senator?

“This isn’t a GOP problem. It’s a problem of Americans having completely distorted expectations about what exactly “health care” is. “

AC, you have it down correctly! Obamacare will have to be allowed to fail, because of all of these mini-constituencies that you enumerated in your post. Virtually every American has a vested interest in “being cared for” by his or her government. We have, as Pogo said” “met the enemy and he is us!” The RATs knew that passing Obamacare would lead us to where we are today, so they are on-track to a single-payer system, and the GOP will now help them to finally achieve their goal. I just wonder how Americans have managed to get to be a bunch of namby pamby morons who have forgotten the principles upon which this country was originally founded. Too many here now are 1) first generation citizens from countries that are socialist 2) undereducated by our public education “system” that has systematically been dumbing them down since at least the end of WWII, 3) as a consequence are content to sit in front of their TV’s and watch a bunch of overpaid minorities play abjectly stupid games all weekend and think that they are living “great lives,” when in point of fact, they are just a bunch of mindless baboons with a beer in their hands, and 4) when it comes to politics, they simply vote for the one who “will give them the most free $hit,” while telling them not to worry, they will assure them that they will “fix everything” tomorrow without the least bit of personal pain.

Actually just the opposite: if there were 58 republican senators it wouldn’t be a big deal if 3 or 4 wanted to vote with the Dems.

Let Obamacare wither on the vine and let’s get more conservatives elected in 2018. And then we repeal.

That is not how the game is played. President Trump needs to find a couple of GOP senators who strongly support repeal and then go to their states and hold a couple of campaign rallies for each one. Draw big crowds of people who want it repealed. Call on those supporters to donate a couple of bucks to keep that senator in office and working with the President’s agenda.

When the others come to ask for campaign appearances, let the word go out that he might be able to support them with a campaign appearance AFTER Obamcare is repealed.

Don’t let it whither. There are thousands of bureaucratic regulations that have been put in place to bring us Obamacare. Trump can erase EVERY SINGLE ONE of those today. It is time to BLOW IT UP and then tell congress they can recess, work on it, forget about it, or do whatever the *&^% they want.

RE:”I really want to see a floor vote on this, I do not think we can move on until the base realizes and comes to accept the fact that Obamacare is not going to be repealed”

With two down its up to John McCain to get better and come in and vote to repeal.

When has he ever let us down?
