Two GOP senators to vote against ObamaCare repeal-only bill [one more kills it]
The Hill ^ | 07/18/2017 | Jordain Carney

Republican Sens. Shelley Moore Capito (W.Va.) and Susan Collins (Maine) said on Tuesday that they will not support moving forward with the plan to repeal ObamaCare with a delayed replacement.

"My position on this issue is driven by its impact on West Virginians. With that in mind, I cannot vote to repeal ObamaCare without a replacement plan that addresses my concerns and the needs of West Virginians," Capito said in a statement.

Collins added to NBC that she is still a "no" on proceeding to the House-passed bill, which would be used as a vehicle for any Senate action.

The move leaves Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) with no room for error. With a 52-seat majority he can only afford to lose two senators and still let Vice President Mike Pence break a tie.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) said early Tuesday he would need to review the bill, but told reporters that a repeal-only bill "will add to more uncertainty."

I think that’s an excellent plan of action for the President.

The GOP voted to repeal Obamacare almost a dozen times...when they knew Barry would veto it.

If they change their tunes now, they are nothing but political whores.

Brilliant idea that would really resonate with majority of Americans that are disgusted by Congress and Senate uselessness.
Please call / Twitter Trump, Rush, Levin and Hannity with this idea!
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander...

RE: “Executive order immediately placing all federal government employees onto Obamacare health plans until further notice. Let democrats complain about what we are required to purchase while they claim to worship it. Let pubbies scream about not repealing what we have to live with.SKIN IN DA GAME SOLUTION.”

Trump is not going to be blamed in MY house for this debacle. The pathetic GOP establishment will continue to get blamed, as it should. Susan Collins is a joke. She is a constant naysayer and Capito is little Miss Silent when it comes to defending the Constitution.

Trump won WV bigly. I hope he has an event there and shames this RINO and maybe Manchin into voting FOR the people.

Rep Susan Collins.

Women are Socialists first.
People second.

People are suffering and she votes for suffering.

Also, the Supreme Court, the women are Socialists.

Women vote for suffering.

A good point to remember: Trump CAN do some things and HAS done some things to ease the pain.

But the GOP legislators MUST get off their BUTTS. I am disgusted at their atrophy.

I don’t understand why the federal gov’t is involved in health care at all. Let the free market take care of this, same as for any other health insurance.

This is maddening.

I really want to see a floor vote on this, I do not think we can move on until the base realizes and comes to accept the fact that Obamacare is not going to be repealed.

Can’t repeal.

Can’t replace.

Can’t even kick the can down the road.

Pubbies are the most useless bunch of politicos to ever hold office.

No wonder the Dems keep eating their lunches, even when they hold both chambers and the White House.

Heard an audio on talk radio of Collins grandstanding a few years ago about how full repeal is the only option.

That’s back when it was safe to BS about it. Now it’s for real.

FORCE THEM TO VOTE!!!

Trump needs to state that the will actively campaign against these senators in their primaries for whomever runs against them, that he will personally raise money for the other republican candidate, and that he will politically savage them until they are out of office.

I don't think this is a case of GOP atrophy at all.

I think it is a case of the GOP facing a problem that has no solution.

There's a simple reason why the GOP can't get its act together to pass a simple ObamaCare repeal:

Every provision of ObamaCare has a constituency with a vested interest in the status quo. And even if the constituency for any one provision is no more than 5% to 10% of the population, they collectively make up a huge portion of the population in almost every state and House district in the U.S.

The evidence of this is plain to see. How many times have you seen messages posted right here on FreeRepublic with variations of the following? ...

"I hate ObamaCare but the replacement bill must cover pre-existing conditions!"

"I hate ObamaCare but my adult children must be covered up to age 26!"

"I hate ObamaCare but there can't be any lifetime limits of coverage!"

"I hate ObamaCare but my insurance company must cover [INSERT MALADY OR CONDITION HERE]!"

Etc., etc. ...

This isn't a GOP problem. It's a problem of Americans having completely distorted expectations about what exactly "health care" is.

Don’t these idiots realize that if they repeal that damned thing, maybe they would get some Dem support when things get desperate. Can you image the Dem Party not voting in lockstep, you know, the party of “diversity”?

He is doing the opposite. He tweeted that we need to increase the GOP majority in Congress to get out of this. He is far more loyal to the party than they'll ever be to him.

Capito is a big government RINO. She’s marginally better than the socialist, abortionist, gun-controlling ‘Rat that ran against her ... I voted for the Libertarian.
