I wonder how you’ll feel when some Muslim moves in next-door and makes that same argument when you’re grilling hot dogs in the back yard?
Good one!
The government (Federal and State governments) went on the anti-tobacco campaign entirely due to the fact that they saw increasing taxes on cigarettes as something they could sell to a gullible public. As soon as they were successful, they started the Global Warming BS because they figured people would roll over on a BTU or carbon tax just as easily since they rolled over so easily on cigarette smoking.
People who want to stomp on the rights of others over cigarettes are 90% people who claim they're thinking of the long term effects of smoking but can't grasp the long term effects of the government gradually taking away freedom, one cigarette or spoonful of sugar at a time. Look at the GOP Congress, they won't repeal Obamacare because they know damn well how much control it grants the government.
The anti-smoking crowd are the sort of folks who won't realize what they're doing to themselves until they're taken at gunpoint to the mandatory castration or genital mutilation clinic. Of course, 99% of the men in the castration queue will simply become Muslame on the spot but the women won't have that option. Too bad, so sad, it's for the good of society.

That is a good point. Muslims are already starting to rile the waters about pork products so I can actually see that happening. A few years down the road people will have to sneak around to eat bacon.

Last time I looked, grilling hot dogs didn’t cause cancer in bystanders. There isn’t much that I can say that is positive about California today, but I am happy as hell for all the anti-smoking legislation that has done a decent job of keeping that filthy habit away from my lungs. I had the occasion recently to visit Las Vegas and I was struck by the “disgusting air quality” in most of the hotel casinos. Yeah, you can debate whether or not second-hand smoke is unhealthy, but whether it is or not, it’s a vile thing to do to non-smokers anywhere. There is no such thing as a “considerate smoker.”
All beef.
