“To wreak” means to make or cause something. It’s generally used only in “wreak havoc,” to cause a great disorder, and in the past tense in “wrought iron,” iron that has been made into something.

I like “wreak”: this reminds me to try to use it more often. “Tom, while I take your brothers to their meeting, would you wreak a chicken casserole?”

WOW! Guess you don’t care to provide the easily found data either that I’m too lazy to find and don’t have the intellect or education to understand anyway. Belligerent smoker? Guess you didn’t read the entire thing. I said I quit 14 weeks ago and I ain’t as cranky and belligerent as you seem to be today. Have we been at odds before? In any case, we can probably agree that it isn’t good for you in either case 1st hand or 2nd hand. That’s one reason I quit. Now, go have a tall cool drink and chill.......

I KNOW what “wreak” means, but he was referring to smell, and used the wrong word.

Oh, I misunderstood your question.

Oh well, now I’m all energized to go out and use “wreak.” (Since I have a lot of young boys in my house, I use “reek” all them time.)

Thirty years ago, at least half the students smoked, now maybe 5% smoke.

Same with the military. When I enlisted 14 years ago, half the people smoked. We'd run drills at sea where the "smoke pits" were secured. After the drill ended and the "smoking lamp was lit" half the crew stood in line awaiting their turn.

These days it is way down, and the military has long enjoyed a smoker-friendly culture (one isn't too worried about lung cancer in the trenches). It's all about health and fitness now.

“Know your homophones,” I tell the Offspring. “It’s what sets us apart from the savages!”

“It’s all about health and fitness now.”

Health and fitness is the new addiction.

There is some type of fitness center near me and some of the things they do,outside, are almost humorous. Fun to watch, though.

Nope, I don’t. You lazy SOBs should do your own work. Maybe that’s why you smoke: Too lazy to quit.

No matter the evidence presented, you will always be the bigot and have a non sequitur as a comeback.

Like I said originally, I ask, I get crickets like now. And again, for the 2nd time, I mentioned in the original posting, and my reply to you, that I quit 14 weeks ago and still ain’t as crabby as you are today. Have a crabby afternoon. Sheesh. Some people.

“I ask, I get crickets like now”

You are an adult, stop acting like a child by asking adults to do a simple google search for you. If you are not adult enough to do a google search, you are not adult enough o read a peer reviewed article.

“Typical belligerent smoker”

Typical smokers are belligerent?

I’m sure you can find some peer reviewed studies proving that also.

Amazing what’s out there in the WWW.

“Secondhand smoke is a killer and wreaks havoc on the health of innocent bystanders”

Pure bullstuff.

I gave up cigarettes nearly 30 years ago. But I still don’t care if someone else smokes. Occasional “exposure” to someone else’s smoke poses no hazard.

Let’s ban perfumes. They make me sick. Give me headaches, some kinds cause instant, excruciating cluster type headaches. But people wear that crap everywhere, with no restrictions.

Have we banned peanuts yet? Some people are allergic to them.

We need to ban driving. It’s dangerous to people on bicycles, who are, by the way a hazard to pedestrians. Ban bicycles too!

Let’s ban anything I don’t like. And let’s ban anything YOU don’t like, as well. Then we will all be happy and free!

Well, that’s somewhat of an improvement. At least you didn’t accuse me of smoking this time. But still childish apparently. I’m done. You’re dismissed.

Some people should take up smoking——might improve the tolerance————and make better tippers out of them.:-)

Well, show me the peer reviewed studies on smokers and tipping before you make those kind of claims. Oh, wait. I gotta do my own research. Dang it. Well I did read someplace that recreational marijuana is legal in CO as well as NV these days. ;-)
