Actually, even if 50 Republicans joined all the Democrats to impeach Trump, this would only mean that he would be tried . . . it takes 67 Senators to remove him, so the Democrats would have to find 19 Republican Senators to vote to convict him.

The 50 number was the 19 needed in the Senate (fat chance there!) and the 30 in the House (fat chance there, too).

But if they did manage to materialize, that would be about enough to remove Trump.

All that, and this, too:

48 sitting Democrat US congresspeople voted against an "obstruction" charge in the Clinton impeachment. 7 sitting Democrat US senators voted against an "obstruction" charge in the Clinton impeachment.

Despite a Democrat Media blackout, charges of rank partisan hypocrisy would be easy to hang around the necks of these people.
