Nevada marijuana supply running low, state of emergency declared, governor says

Nevada state officials declared a state of emergency after stores that sell recreational marijuana reported that their supply is running out just less than two weeks after the drug went on sale legally.

Gov. Brian Sandoval, R-Nev., issued the state of emergency on Friday, which will allow state officials to decide on new rules that could ease the shortage of marijuana, according to Fox 13 Now.

Nevada’s Department of Taxation released a statement that said it will contemplate emergency regulations that would permit liquor wholesalers to cash in on the marijuana sales.

“Based on reports of adult-use marijuana sales already far exceeding the industry’s expectations at the state’s 47 licensed retail marijuana stores and the reality that many stores are running out of inventory, the Department must address the lack of distributors immediately,” the Department of Taxation said in a statement. “Some establishments report the need for delivery within the next several days.”

Sounds like the gov needs to get the Guard out on this. Perhaps the Admin will declare the state a disaster zone.

All hands must search every couch in the state - gotta be some that fell into under the cushions... sorta in-between the cracks, no pun intended.

That’s a feature not a bug. Both the slot machines and marijuana are designed to create mind-numbed zombies, and eventually government-controlled zombies. Nevada is going to be more socialist than Scandinavia, in short order.

So is there a form of ‘Amber Alert’ for emergencies like this? Do they resurrect Cheech&Chong to do PSAs on how to extend one’s stash like rolling thinner doobies? Will the government grant import crdits to VW Vannagens traipsing to CA & CO on supply runs? Can we expect Hollyweird to redo “Smokey and the Bandit” on a pot run theme?

“Joints will be free at Casinos before you know it.”

Unlikely. Out of an abundance of concern about Federal intervention, they are being quite careful to make it well known to their customers that smoking marijuana in the casinos or hotel rooms will not be tolerated.

Potheads will put in coins and pull the lever just to see the lights flashing.

I don’t live in Vegas, but I listen to their talk radio station and I hear the daily news. Murders are an almost nightly occurrence there. A lot of Amish people from South Central Los Angeles have moved there. I would be worried about getting robbed on the way out of one of those pot shops.

What I’m saying is the new machines are even worse than that. You don’t put coins in and get coins back, you don’t pull a lever. It’s completely high-tech. Just stare at blinking lights and press a button, stare and press a button, hear the bells and whistles,......

In Nevada, every adult is allowed to grow and keep the proceeds from 6 mature plants.

But only if they live 50 miles or more from a retail outlet. That eliminates about 90% of the population.

The TOURISTS are smoking up all their pot lol

Do they lose sight of how much money they’re losing?

I don't think you could say with any degree of authority that "X" will always work in "Y" way for everyone in this situation.

Riffing on your thought, however, I wonder if a stoned slots player would be in a casino's best interest. Rationale: (1) Being stoned tends to slow you down. You'd rather sit there and enjoy the show, which might prevent you from feeding the machine at a feverish pace. (2) Being stoned tends to make you a bit paranoid. You might actually freak out if you started bleeding money, and you might not want to chase the dragon. Being stoned makes you less aggressive. They don't call them "joint muscles" after all - they call 'em "beer muscles."

Running low on dope?

Call any of these fine corporations....

The Sinoloa Cartel
MS-13
The Juarez Cartel
The Gulf Cartel
or see any one the millions of illegals.

After all - if you use or even support legal marijuana - then you support these criminal enterprises and they thank you for your support.
